A day trip to Mount Hamilton and back with geekster and gitonyerhorse.
Fairchild Superfund: We couldn't find any evidence of this area's unsavory history: It appears the job is complete. Thanks for the tour.
Emma's Park: Out with geekster and gitonyerhorse today. It appears there are lots of changes in progress for this park: there were construction fences all about and lots of remodelling in progress. TFTC.
Moons Over Mount Hammy: Long and winding to get to, but definitely worth the trek. Moffet field looked like a tiny speck in the distance. I sat my GPSr down on that stump and it got covered with sap. grrr. TFTC!
Landings and Lights: We were puttering about the fence for a while, and saw a take-off and a landing. I'm pretty sure someone in the tower picked up the binoculars to check us out.
The Twin Gates: Usually a trailhead cache tempts me with the prospect of a hike, but not today. It was too hot and too dry. Thanks for the chance to stretch our legs on the way to the top though.
The White Barn: Our arrows were twirling on this one, but eventually we found it. We noticed what was probably a mountain lion trap on the way back to the car.
Grant Lake Trailhead: There was something in the trash can that the wasps liked, and that black widow was guarding a couple of egg balls in the shade close by. Fortunately the cache's hiding spot was insect free!
Fisherwoman's Favorite Firefighters: This cache has us bamboozled for a while, but eventually gitonyerhorse found it in a spot that geekster and I were sure we'd already checked. Thanks!
Tank atop a Slope with a View: The tank was fine, but that level gauge was pretty decrepit. Thanks for the smilie.
GeoBeads #8 - A Little Evil: ...more than a little evil, I'd say, but once we figured out how to get good satelite rececption everything fell into place. Nicely done!
Danke Shane: Planet Hunter: Very cool area! We took the time to study the telescope. and marvelled at the precision required to grind and polish the lens. At the end, we met up with a docent who knew about the cache, but hadn't taken the time to 'find' it. We showed it to her, and she promised that our 'secret' was safe with her! TFTC.
Just Half a Trail: Thanks for the encouragement during the lifeline call! Eventually we found it, but got all sweaty and covered with dust and dead leaves on a sultry afternoon. BTW, there's an in theme car close by...it has half a windshield and half a set of tires remaining.
SC Fire - Agnew Station: geekster seemed to think this cache was across the street, which confused the heck out of gitonyerhorse and me when he drove right by where it really was. Thanks for the quickie.
SiRF-Cache: Thanks for the cool gift! For an encore, perhaps you guys could convince Garmin to lower their prices on those 'X' series receivers...that would be a gift, indeed! ...sigh...that's what I thought.
Tully Fields Forever: Out with gitonyerhorse and geekster for a cache run. This one happened to be on our way to the top of Mt. Hamilton. Thanks for the pit stop!
Coffee Anyone #2: As we stopped by for this cache, a lady holding a cigarette and some sort of frothy coffee drink drove by in a broken down car. She commented out the window that she really needed to get the darn car fixed. I wondered about her priorities. TFTC!
Sunnyvale Rough Too: I got the first one, but it took me a couple of minutes to figure out I'd get to log this one as well. Nice home-made camouflage!
Coffee Anyone #3: I'm with geekster on the beverage choice, but gitonyerhorse chose the in-theme drink. Squirrelly arrow on this one, but we persisted. TFTC.
Built Here: The White House: I found it with gitonyerhorse, while geekster watched from the safety of the curb. I was busy looking in the typical spot when she came up with the cache in the only other possible place. Nicely done! Passing drivers barely noticed us, but we were certainly watching them.
A Sign Only Micro: The pressure was on since the cache owner was watching. Fortunately I knew what to do right away. I love a cache with a joke!

June 30 -- July 5, 2006
We took a road trip to Joes Valley for the Olsen Family Reunion. Along the way we found some caches. It was seven days of dust and dirt and few showers. FUN! Oh, and it was great to see lots of cousins.
Day 1: Redwood Shores to Elko
pride of winnemucca: I found it at dusk before quickly moving on. TFTC.
MEMORIES: This was a really interesting spot. The smell reminded us of garlic fields back home in California. TFTC!
K7XC #7 - NV Crossroads - Hwy 80 & Hwy 95: My son spotted a TB laying on the ground shortly before we found the cache. Thanks for breaking up our trip!
Day 2: Elko to Joes Valley
Break the Monotony of I-80 E1: The thermometer at the trailhead read 90°C, which I figured was pretty cool for this spot. The warning about scorpions and snakes added a bit of excitment to the trek. Thanks!
Between a rock and a hard place: On our way down to Joes Valley for a family reunion. The kids really appreciated all the great swag in this new cache, and we traded like crazy. I think it was Ted (6) who made the find. Thanks!
Electric Lake Overlook--Partnerships Benefit All: On our way to a family reunion in Joes Valley, and taking the route through Scofield which is new to us. A very pretty spot. TFTC!
4 Generations at Schofield: Our first time on this road. Thanks for the chance to stop, stretch our legs, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Day 4: Around Joes Valley
Shaw's Shower: We were visiting Joes Valley for a family reunion, and this was one of the closest to our campsite. A very interesting diversion and quite unexpected in such an arid spot. TFTC!
Day 5: Joes Valley to Cedar Hills
What Is This?: The family reunion is over, and we're on our way back to civilization. Our urge to cache is only slightly stronger than the one for a nice hot shower! Thanks for tempting us to stop and enjoy the view.
Shinob stash: On our way back to civilization after a family reunion. Everyone's along except the oldest, who's attending girls camp herself back in California. TFTC.
Potter's Pond: 'Only 0.25 mi to the cache? How difficult could it be?', I thought to myself after concluding there was no trail. (If there was one, I don't want to know!) It turned out to be a fun challenge with plenty of obstacles (a stream, a bog, dozens of downed trees, mosquitos, horse flies, stinging nettle, sharp branches...need I go on?) SL LN, but took one picture (there are 6 remaining) and plenty of memories. When the film gets developed, I'm the sweaty one covered with bugs and sporting the completely contented grin. Now, put that track up on the GPSr so I can find my way outta here!
Potter's Pond is the oldest cache in Utah, and the one I'd been counting getting since the start of the trip. Everyone else stayed back at the car, and thankfully so since it was a bug-infested bushwhack of the highest order. Lots of fun and good memories.
FAIR~VIEW?: So, we're driving down the canyon after a family reunion at Joes Valley, and I notice some folks climbing up the hill in a pretty strange spot. After a quick glance at the GPSr, there's only one conclusion: geocachers. So we stop and join the fun. Pretty soon, we realize that it's 4 star fun. And I'm wishing we were down on solid level ground. Thanks for the smilie, and nice to meet other cachers in the field.
Welcome to Fairview, Gateway to Skyline Drive: After that 4 star up the canyon, we decided that some refreshment was in order. Hey look! A cache only 150' away! Thanks for something more our speed. I picked up FamilyFun geotoken #136 which will travel home to California with us. TFTC.
Day 5: Cedar Hills to Redwood City
film set 04 "THE PHILIDELPHIA EXPERIMENT": A rest break on our way home to California. TFTC.
Launch Pad #3: We were looking for a bug to take back to California, but unfortunately found that the countdown on the launchpad had been halted. Thanks for the stroll in the sagebrush!
No swimmin' pools, No movie stars...: Well, we thought we knew where this one was going when we saw the freeway exit sign, but caching always throws some interesting twists. Oh, there was nothing out of ordinary about the hide, and we laughed at the joke, but just as we were getting ready to leave, the proprietor of the local establishment came out to greet us. It seems that he has noticed some unusual activity in the last few weeks: 'There's sure a lot of folks stopping by recently, and I wondered what's going on?' Well, I proceeded to give my best GC.com PR speech, showing him my GPSr, PDA with cache description, cache container, log sheet, etc, etc, etc. I figure you can consider the guy fully informed now. He was pretty suprised that all of this has been going on under his nose for over a year now, though, and did mention that he didn't appreciate the person who was digging around the base of his sign. Perhaps you should mention in the cache description that it isn't hidden on private property? TFTC.
Beowawe Rest Break I-80 Westbound: A quick break on our way home to California. We had the place to ourselves, and the only animals we saw in the 'Pet Area' were three huge crows. After making the find, we dashed back to the car since it had just started to rain. Thanks!
punto del hierro cache: John and Ted (6) made the short trek to the cache with me. There was great swag, and we traded! Thanks for the diversion.
OFF Agin(or on?) 2: I was hunting caches in different Nevada counties on the way home to California. I'm not exactly sure which one this one is in, but hopefully it isn't Washoe because I've already got that one. Thanks.
Give a man a "GHOTI"- corollary 1 to "OFF agin": I looped by this cache on the way back to the road home. I found it camouflaged by an old shirt. That's a first! Thanks for the diversion.

Elevated Awareness - Coyote Point on a Budget: The first time I saw this cache, I laughed out loud. The second time, we got down to business, and it was fun all the way! A bit late for my meeting with KT, she was just about ready to put on her Wonder Woman outfit and snag the cache herself, but I convinced her my way was just as good. Thanks! I've been in a bit of a caching funk and this was just the ticket.

We found 25 caches at the GBES rally and actually won the night portion of the race. Sheer dumb luck, I suppose! On the day course we flatted and were unable to continue. Pretty discouraging, but those are the breaks of off-road adventuring!
GBES 3RD ANNUAL GEOCACHING AND NAVIGATIONAL RALLY: What a fantastic adventure! Great camraderie, incredible scenery, and challenges that really put us on the edge. Boy, am I sorry we didn't stay for the awards ceremony. Thanks for organizing a great event!

A few caches on the way to the GBES rally:
Donner Party of Five: We stopped to visit this monument on the way to the GBES rally. Very interesting history! TFTC.
The King's Beach: Beautiful spot! Thanks!
Memorial Point Scenic Overlook : What an incredible place! TFTC.
Ponderosa Ranch Relic: An intreguing bit of history. Thanks for pointing it out.

In the Grove: EPE was about 50', but I walked right up to it...I guess I've got an eye for un-natural looking stuff in places like this by now. I enjoyed the evening hike up this pleasant trail. TFTC.
June 13, 2006
Take a Coin, Leave a Coin: Second find on a lunch run in Pacifica. No coins = No trades, but I'll be back for the nearby hiking cache. Thanks!
Salted Pork: Find #1 on a lunch run into Pacifica. TFTC!

Along the Gordon Mill Trail: Whew! That's a lot of uphill. Thanks for the resting spot.
Virus Bravo Three: Just a little too symmetrical to be natural...yup it's the cache hiding spot! TFTC.
The Cure for Micro Viruses: The group searched for a bit on this cache...but, in the end, the cure was quite satisfying! Thanks!
The Mountain Men: What a beautiful spot for a hike. Thanks, geekster, for providing a good portion of today's entertainment!
All That Jazz: Out on a group hike in El Corte de Madera OSP, this cache was pretty close to our turn-around point. A fun oldie; great to see it so well preserved. TFTC!
Old Growth Redwood: Yup, it's a great spot for a cache! I dropped a TB. Thanks.
Manzanita Trail Overlook: I think my GPSr finally got a good steady lock around this cache. The fog and trees were making things tough. TFTC.
Speed Bump Tree: I've never seen that type of film can while caching. LOL! Thanks!

San Bruno Free Way version 2: It was great to be back in this area of San Bruno Mountain park again. The trail was completely overgrown with waist-high grass in most places. I had to do several back-and-forths at the creek crossing to spot the trail because it was almost completely overgrown. Crouching over, I was able to slip through. Towards the end of the hike, I met up with a couple of fellow travellers and introduced them to geocaching. We found the cache together and signed the log. They continued on up the hill, but I had to go back to work. I left a benchmark pin. Thanks!
June 7, 2006
Secret Shoreline: I actually was expecting something a little different, but very nicely done! After finding the cache, I watched a group from the USGS getting ready to do some mapping (...actually I'm not really sure what they were doing!) 4-5 guys were loitering about the dock while one guy worked feverishly over a really big, fancy laptop in the back of what looked like the USS Minnow. The boat was labelled 'USGS survey vessel'. It was a funny sight. I wonder what kind of highpowered mapping software they had on that computer? You see the most interesting things while out caching. Thanks!

35 Years of Service: 2TF @ 12:30p Thanks for the lunchtime excursion! I've been a chemist for 14 years; ten in Illinois and 4 in California. Fortunately most of that time never really seemed like work; it's great to get paid for playing around in the lab. I noticed from the sign that Mr. Sam Volante worked for 47 years. WOW!
Ravenswood Parking: I just followed the geotrample! TFTC.
Three Towers: Thanks for a reprise visit to this trail! The air was clear and crisp, which made for a very enjoyable hike at dusk.
In Honor of Charlie Brown: I looked for this cache the first day it came out, I think. 7 months later, it was a different story. Even with a little help, it's still downright tricky.

Kings Mountain Road: Suddenly there was a little cluster of caches on King's Mtn Road, so I grabbed the boys and headed out. The GPSr was still pretty squirrelly after having lost its way during the ascent, but we noticed the hint in short order and soon after the cache was in our hands. We had fun pawing through all the great swag, and ended up trading toys for coins. Thanks! ...looking forward to another.
Teague Hill: What a nice little hike! Although the road was bustling with traffic (cars and bikes of both types), we only saw one other group of hikers at the trailhead, and had the route to ourselves. John and Ted enjoyed exploring ahead on the trail and searching for banana slugs. After reading the Teague Hill webpage, I learned a new word...'viewshed'. C'mon, that's made up, isn't it? We traded toys for coins, and took the TB. TFTC!
The Lost Village of Summit Springs: Second attempt. After parking, we noticed that there was a couple taking a nap about 20' from where we searched last week. Drat! Fortunately though, now there's 'Teague Hill' nearby. Off we go. On the way back, what's this? Still asleep. So we play in the stream. NOISILY. After 5 minutes, they get the clue. This time the search yields sucess. I'd swear somebody uncovered it a bit since last time. Lots of trading. Thanks!

Northern CA Solar System Model: Asteroid Chiron: I stubbed my toe before finding it. Ouch! One fellow waiting for the light was quite interested in what I was doing, so I saluted...and he saluted right back! TFTC.
cache on board: Sigh...Here I am at another one of your caches. I can stop at any time. Really. Thirty seconds one way or another and one of Burlingame's finest would have pulled up while I was in the act.

Sunset Lane: Wow! What a satisfying cache find! Winding around on the nearby streets for what seemed like forever, I finally stumbled on what was obviously the trailhead. Quickly the trail led into a beautiful hillside path that climbed past the cache and finally looped back. I hardly noticed. The Buckeye trees in bloom and a warm breeze buoyed my spirits. The air was clear and the views spectactular. Exactly what caching is all about for me! Thanks so much. One odd little note: I noticed a series of 3 mail boxes along a dirt road and behind a locked gate with no houses in sight. Again, what a great cache.
Woodside Park 'n' Ride: 7pm Lots of cars; absolutely no people. Good thing, too, cuz I searched for about 5 minutes before finding it. Nicely tucked away! TFTC.
The Stop and Go,Go,Go Cache: 9pm. Got it. That VC and white wine quip is gonna cost you a couple of extra bucks in gas Lefty. Are you ready K.T.? TFTC.

Pirates of the Peninsula: At this morning hour there were plenty of people out getting some exercise, so I had to be careful. I thought there might be some interference with my GPSr signal, but fortunately not. A nice large cache with plenty of goodies for the Cub Scouts to enjoy! I traded a TB for a travelling coin. TFTC!
Coyote Point 2: A little bit late, and with traffic a little heavier than usual, I thought the gate would be manned by the time I arrived. Nope! So I eased on by and made this find. Thanks!

Eucalyptus Globulus: As I approached, geekster and K.T. did quick U-turns and came back to watch me bumble around. Mercifully, I found it pretty quickly. Nicely done! Thanks for organizing the party...but somehow I missed the coordinates for the after cache BBQ. Oh, since there was a convienient little hook, I left a TB.

The Lost Village of Grabtown: Thanks for the history lesson and a short hike along this beautiful trail. I dropped a TB.
Phone a Friend: What a view! We paused to appreciate it before pushing on. TFTC.
Ocean View Park: I had the boys for cover, so this one was pretty straightforward, even though the park was busy. Come over here son; I need to tie your shoe. TFTC.
The Lost Village of Purissima: Lost indeed! TFTC.
A Railroad Ran Through It: On the way in, we waved to the kids playing the the backyard of the new house. On the way out, we decided not to wave since their bathrobed parents were frowning at us from inside. Hey, if you want privacy, get some curtains! There were at least 20 windows, and not a single one was covered. Go figure. TFTC.

easy: Second visit. I really liked the camouflage on this cache. Nicely done. Thanks!
ring my bell: There was a bell here??? I guess I didn't have time to notice it while watching to see if anyone was watching me...if that makes any sense at all.
you know the drill: The best part of this cache was the conveniently located bench that I used while signing the log. I'm just not a brazen cache type, I suppose. Thanks for the smilie though.
too easy: It's not my favorite type of cache location, but I got it. Thanks!

Excel: Thanks for replacing this cache! John and Ted had a great time riding their bikes down the bridge ramp. I tried to drop a thin TB, but the tag turned out to be too wide so I TNLNSL.
May 19, 2006
Mission 7: Crab Creek (Project APE): Wow! I finally did it! An APE cache...but definitely not the one I expected. Maggie and I travelled out to the East coast from California to attend my brother's graduation from GW Law School (geonick ben500...maybe he'll have more time for caching now ...oh, wait, I forgot he still has to pass the bar exam. ) Since the morning was free, I knew this was going to be the one. No way I was going to get within 25 miles and not make the attempt. Since this wasn't really a caching trip, we muddled along as best we could. Of course, the GPSr just got us to the general vicinity, followed by lotsa wandering around looking for a suspicious pile. Ahhh, there it is. Just as we were hiding things, along came spoon! totally intent on his business. We had a pleasant chat; it's always nice to meet another cacher. Left a TB; took a TB. Thanks for the adventure!

green: I decided to take a long lunch today and pick up a couple of San Bruno Mountain stragglers. It's amazing how many springtime flowers there are up here; and I'll never tire of looking down on the planes as they climb away from SFO. By the time I got this cache and the nearby TA hide, it was probably closer for me to just hike back to the office...but then I wasn't sure who I could get to bring me back up to get the car. TFTC.
No Star (bucks): A cache in hand is worth two in the bush...or so I'm told. Before leaving the car, a little voice told me, 'It's a TA hide, don't forget the leatherman.' And I'm sure glad I didn't. Loved the hike and views; appreciated the hide. Amazingly, I got just as sweaty extracting this one as I did 'Isuzu gone'. TFTC.

Deer View: It's been quite a while since we've been out on a cache hunt as a family, but this one was the perfect opportunity: close-by, short hike on a scenic trail, and a big container to trade in. The kids were bug-eyed when I pulled it out since they've been on plenty of underwhelming (from a trading perspective!) micro-cache hunts with me. The mosquitos were quite thick, which suprised me, since the area doesn't really seem moist enough to support them. Traded TBs. TFTC!

thank you: I had a little coaching this time around. Very nicely done: I probably put my hand on it during my first search, but didn't realize it. TFTC.

Landing Zone: Well, geekster's back with a new crew this week. Thanks for the quickie before we headed off-road.
54 miles: Thanks for the preview of sights to come!
Don't Blink: The gentleman working in his garden just a few feet from the cache was definitely distracted by us taking pictures of each other. That's a funny looking camera...it almost looks like a GPSr! TFTC.
Paicines Reservoir: We ran into rain734 at this cache. Quite a coincidence to meet them here since they are from close to home on the peninsula. I swapped a TB, which they propmtly took to move further south. TFTC.
Road End: I think I was occupied with getting something to eat out of the cooler while vaccine found this cache. Thanks buddy!
PW II: I would love to know how you make one of these caches. Thanks for the diversion.
4-5th's of the way to Nowhere: I was still busy pulling stickers out of my socks from a previous cache when we drove up. vaccine did the honors. Thanks.
The Middle of Nowhere: Thanks for the chance to stretch my legs. We enjoyed our tour of no-where today.
Steep Station: I liked this little hike up a dry creek bed. Fortunately it didn't get too steep before we found the cache. The chance of getting it getting muggled is just about zero. Pretty different from back home in the bay area. TFTC.
'G' Is For Ghost Town: What a cool place! Even though nothing has been taken out of the ground here for over a century, it was still easy to envision all of the bustle and activity that must have once taken place. The editorial comments about the Sierra Club were quite entertaining. TFTC!
Old View of New Idria: vaccine and I wormed our way up to the cache while geekster watched from below. He found it last week anyhow. Great view! TFTC.
Clear Creek: We stratched our way into this cache. I won't wear shorts next time, that's for sure!
San Benito Mountain II: vaccine and I tagged along with tour-guide geekster for a fantastic trip up Clear Creek and to the summit. What a fun adventure with million dollar views. It was definitely worth the effort to get here. I traded TBs. TFTC!
Looking at You: geekster, vaccine and I tried to contour our way up to this cache. All we really accomplished was getting stuck by sharp plants. After wandering all over the hillside, we finally zeroed in on the hide. After taking care of business, we let gravity guide us back to the road. TFTC.
Tumey Hills: 'The quest for the spoon' proves vaccine, geekster, and I are certifiable caching freaks. 8 miles out of our way on washboard dirt roads, across a field of grass that inbedded thousands of those razor sharp seeds in my socks and shoes (I already thew the socks away and the shoes are probably ruined), and up a cliff (yeah, let's be honest, that's what it really is), all to find a cache with no other redeeming virtue other than a SPOON!?! Well, it was an Iron Chef spoon, after all. Thanks for providing the adventure.
.03: Well, we did find it.
Why Not: Thanks everybody for stomping down those gosh-darn prickly weeds.
The Rock Pile: I zeroed out some distance away from the hide, but I think the others were too tired to prolong my agony; they just motioned me over after making the find. TFTC.
Pinnacle View: We made the find coming down from New Idria. TFTC.
The Crag: Just as we were driving up to this cache, a guy on a bicycle rode by. It seemed quite out of place. I'll bet he was thinking the same thing about us! TFTC.
Tray's Pinos Hotel: This was the last cache of the day during a tour of Clear Creek, San Benito Mountain, and New Idria. We stopped so that geekster could put some air in the tires on his jeep, but the compressor at the station left a lot to be desired. TFTC.

landshark: I think I got lucky on this one. Cool sculpture. I hope the owner doesn't mind how you improved his yard.
early bird: 4:45pm A bit early for the dinner crowd. Muggle-Schmuggle. TFTC.
c.f.m: I was at this cache about 7:30p, but couldn't make the grab since there was a father and daughter playing catch nearby. So, I left to find another cache. When I returned, c.f.m and her dad were there for an owner visit. They looked for the cache in the place where they hid it, but a previous finder had improved the hide, which I was able to spot. It was very nice to meet you c.f.m! TFTC.
Joker: This was a nice evening stroll. I seem to recall a cache near here a while back. The garden is still just as nice. I traded travel bugs. TFTC.

Go Left - I Mean Right: I took a surveying course one summer when I was in high school, but the only thing I remember about it was that we did a lot of math with paper and pencil. The puzzle was a quick solve for me, but finding the cache was another matter. I got side tracked for quite a while by an alternate meaning to the hint, which fits really well with a close-by sign that shows a man, a dog, and a shovel. TFTC! In: a travelling geocoin; Out: the 'Take me to your leader' TB.
April 29, 2006
Tall Coe Bell: I met up with cer at this cache as we both started out Coe Backcountry weekend adventures. I hadn't read the hint, had no preconceived notions about where it ought to be, and spotted the cache quickly. Thanks!
Burra-Burra: We stopped off on our way into Coe Park for the Backcountry weekend. The fog was whipping over the ridge making everything cool and wet. As the first ones up the trail, it was just a faint break in the tall thick grass. We really enjoyed the hike, although the views would have been spectacular, I'm sure. TFTC.

I'm Batman!: FTF! 12:15pm Thanks for the nice, large, well stocked cache! Location and cache size combine to make the muggle factor high; once I had spotted the cache, I really took care before pulling it out of its hiding spot, since there was no good way to conceal it from passersby. Good fun. TFTC.
April 21, 2006
Dolphin Encounter: Group FTF! So I was approaching the first waypoint, and I heard a couple of car doors slam shut and the 'approaching' beep of a GPSr. Yup, it's Eagle81 and Eagles Wing. Actually, the fact that we approached from different directions helped us overcome the one of the little twists this cache throws. The container seemed a little empty, so I left a bunch of swag and a SC geocoin. Trade fair! Oh, I took the other coin to move on. Thanks for a fun multi!

Tee Time: We were on our way to this cache when it decided to rain really hard, so we took refuge under a tree for a few minutes. After that, we found the cache just fine, but then realized that there was a homeless family in the bushes about 100' away. I think their son saw my boys and his curiosity got the better of him. I was going to try and explain things, but we didn't speak the same language. I'm sorry if the cache goes missing, but I'm hopeful they may not have been close enough or paying attention enough to figure things out. It was a sad scene, but an important lesson in life that we discussed on the way back to the car. TFTC.
Element #2: Mom and the girls went ahead to Grandma's house to help with Easter dinner preparations. That left me and the boys with a little time to burn. We really enjoyed the walk to this cache. Not too muddy, and only a few sprinkles. We signed the log and traded a couple of toys for an unactivated Team Leggoes geocoin. Trade fair!

Beach Ave: With clearing skies, I though a trip to the coast was in order. I found the cache in good order, and then continued on to walk on the beach a bit. TFTC!
This Stop: Princeton!: The parking lot was pretty full, and there was some sort of meeting going on in the station...umm...restaurant. Kinda strange for a Saturday. TFTC.
U Can I Con: So I finally got around to finding this cache. Great view! It wasn't too busy today, for which I was grateful: This cache would be difficult with lots of people wandering around. Appropriately enough, I launched a travelling geocoin, 'mjp303's 2006 CITO geocoin #2'. It's kinda tough to think of a coin as something that travels, but I'm trying! I was tempted to deface it somehow, but in the end decided not to. Thanks!

Traffic Jam: FTF! 8:30am. My zero for the posted coordinates was in a spot that just was not possible. However, since the search area was considerably constrained by the terrain, I was still able to find the nicely camouflaged cache. Thanks for the pleasant morning walk! TNLNSL.
Theodore's Walk: Java & Gems: My first stop on the series; it was a quick find, and I sat on the nearby bench to sign the log. On the way back to the car, I disturbed a herd of ferral cats who were feasting on the food that some benevolent soul had left for them. I'll be Theo would have liked to check out that place! TFTC.
Theodore's Walk: Remembrance: My GPSr had me wanting to trample in a very nice garden that it apprears someone has taken on as a personal project. I resisted the urge, and had the cache in hand shortly. I'm starting to see where this whole thing is headed!
Theodore's Walk: Which Way Should We Go?: I was starting to think that it wouldn't be too muddy. NOT! Here I go to the final. TFTC.
Theodore's Walk: Final Reward: What a view! Thanks for bringing me up to see this picturesque spot. My zero was a ways off, and completely devoid of any possible hiding spots, so I had a couple of choices as to where to search, and unfortunately chose incorrectly. Really though, I didn't mind spending the extra time--it was so beautful. Eventually the find was mine. I signed the log, and rescued a TB. TFTC!
Coastal View Travel Bug Inn and Spa: I stopped by, and swapped bugs. IN: Lexington Minuteman; OUT: Adventurous Arachnid. Everybody smells really nice! TFTC.
This Stop: Vallemar!: There were lots of people out for an evening stroll; no wind to speak of in this sheltered place. TFTC!
What More Could You Ask For?: Well, since you asked...here's what I'm asking for: (1) Less wind! It was really howling tonight, and I almost lost my hat with the no snowmobiles pin on it; (2) Thinner fingers. No additional comments there. As it turns out, there were no muggles to dodge, and I had the view to myself. Thanks for that!
This Stop: Edgemar!: Lotsa people picking up Easter cakes. TFTC.

ITSA #2A: Although I wasn't inspired by the location, I appreciated the clever hide. TFTC.

X-Rated Art Gallery: I was treated to a personal tour of the Gallery with the curator. Conclusion: I don't know high from low, and red from black. I do know my numbers, though. TFTC!
April 11, 2005
Hillcrest Circle Park: I must have passed on this cache at least a dozen times, knowing the area and its exposure. Finally, everything was in alignment! TFTC.
The Easter Bunny's Favorite Cache: I stopped by in the rain. Picking up the cache brought a smile to my face. Perfect! Quite a torrent nearby. TFTC.

Tai Chi View: Those muggles Shores Scout mentioned moved 'cuz I used my Jedi mind trick on them...TFTC.
Numbers Hound #2: Isn't it nice when the road building folks put up a cache holder for us? Thanks!
Numbers Hound #1: Shores Scout and I were up and down the hill. I was just opening up the phone to use a lifeline when he announced the find. Thanks for the smilie!
Sky Can: I felt like an archeologist while trying to unfold the log carefully. Shores Scout scrounged up a little zip-lock baggie, but it was too big. The log is probably beyond salvage anyhow. Interesting spot!
Sunnyvale Gold Rush: 50 tons to get 2.5 ounces?!? Thanks for bringing me to this spot.
Hungering For A Cache: A quick find on our tour of Sunnyvale. TFTC.
Don't Go There To Get There: As Shores Scout and I approached the cache, lots of yummy smells wafted by our noses. TFTC.
Whatawaste Plaza: Except for the two ladies doing some new fangled exercise routine (big, slow steps with deep knee bends in between movements), we had the Plaza to ourselves. TFTC.

Rosita Park: I found this a while back, but evidently forgot to log it. I came again today, and things were looking strangely familar, but didn't realize it until I saw my name in the log! TFTC.
Half Dome in the Park: That's just wrong.
Ex Post Cacho: There was a steady stream of visitors to the nearby establishment. Oh, I get it...the last Sunday before Tax Day. TFTC.
Jumping Poles: I found it after poking around a bit. It was quite a struggle to get the rusty bent lid off. Took the TB. TFTC.
Bay Area Calibration Point #1: I was out caching with GPSr only, and didn't realize what this was until now...Whoops!
I Just Had to Sit Down: I shloshed my way over from 'Juan'. All that mud on my shoes made for a tough haul. Hopefully no horses until things dry out a bit. TFTC.
Juan Slept Here: A quick find, but for some reason I had a devil of a time extracting it. Fat fingers I suppose. Boy, is it ever muddy. Beautiful view from the top of the hill just past the cache. Thanks!
Pirate's Booty: All quiet on a somewhat stormy afternoon. TFTC.
Diridon Station: Not a good start...it took me 15 minutes in the rain to find this cache. I probably looked right at it 5 times before realizing what I had. What a stinker!
Race Station: A little more walking that I expected since all the parking lots were chained off. TFTC.
VTA Fruitdale Station: I found the cache and then stopped in for a soda. One of San Jose's finest was there getting a snack too. TFTC.
VTA Bascom Station: Ahhh, that's more like it: 15' from car to cache. Thanks!
VTA Hamilton Station: I definitely got lucky on this one. There were plenty of places to hide, but I walked right up to it.
VTA Downtown Campbell Station: Ohhh no...the code is missing. Not insurmountable...I think. Sorry, I didn't have any fresh logs with me today: this cache needs attention.
VTA Winchester Station: I had to wait until the girl at the drive-thru expresso shop got a customer. Also, I found a pair of scissors and a roll of clear packing tape right next to the cache...weird. TFTC.
End Station - VTA Mystery Cache: A fun series! Fortunately the rain held off long enough for me to get everything done. With one of the clues missing, I was able to determine two sets of coordinates. Fortunately, I chose correctly, and knew I was in the right place before finding the final cache. I signed the log #100. Thanks for all the hard work putting this together. I'm glad I had the tour!

ERIN GO BRAUGH !: 2nd attempt. I drove up, and there was British Invasion just starting to size things up. We searched. We checked the previous logs. We searched again. I called a lifeline. He didn't remember the cache, but I kept talking. Eventually we got a bit of help. Finally, we went back to searching, and finally there it was. Whew! What a struggle.
Juana Find a Cache?: I attempted to complete this cache as it was designed, but the park was packed with Moms and kids on this sunny Saturday (a rare thing lately), and I felt a few suspicious stares. So, I checked the hint and wandered off. The find was mine in the second place I checked! TFTC.
20th Anniversary: Very nicely done; I loved how the hide fit the cache theme. It'll be 20 years for us later this year. Congratulations to you, and best wishes for all the years to come. TFTC!
Marsh Miles: I almost didn't make the trek back out for this cache. But, since it was a perfect day, I decided I couldn't pass up the trip. A nice cache and a glorious hike. Thanks!
Nature Galore!: Great spot! I sat for a while soaking in the sunshine. TFTC.
Itsae ucan dits ab igone: What an interesting spot. Thankfully the library was closed because I circled the spot several times before figuring things out. Nicely done!
Byxbee Park: A quick find, but a challenge to put back since I neglected to notice exactly where or how it was attached. (I assumed I didn't need to be precise!) So there I am, stalling while waiting for a muggle break, finally getting one, and then not being able to put it back. Quite comical actually. TFTC.
Stumpy: I was curious about what goes on at the building down the path, but it looked a little creepy, so I didn't investigate. TFTC.
Traffic Patterns: Odd, and interesting. It took me a while to get to since I guessed wrong about which side of the freeway it was on. TFTC.
Silicon Valley Hanging Tree?: Thanks for the history! I found the cache in good shape.
Shred it, Dude!: Thanks for pointing out this park. As I pulled up, a family arrived. Dad was going to skateboard, and his 2-year old had big plans too! He couldn't carry his too well, but was pretty good at laying on it and paddling along with his hands! Cute. TFTC.
Booked: Peaceful spot. Latest book: Whatever the kids pull off the shelf. TFTC.
Duck Dock: Approaching the cache, I noticed a strangely familiar dog, a Mom, and two kids. Then, at the last minute, I saw Shores Scout, hunched over his backpack, with a look on his face like I'd caught him with his hand in the cookie jar. My timing was perfect, and he handed me the log. TFTC!
She Sells Sea Shells: First of the day. Finally, sunshine on a Saturday! I love this park when everything is green. Thanks for the hike.

So there I am, stalling while waiting for a muggle break, finally getting one, and then not being able to put it back.
April 7, 2006
Y Palm Park: I'm confused. I found a micro cache with an unsigned log in a place about 30' from my zero. Also, I see that the hint doesn't match. Can I claim FTF on the backup cache??? I suppose I should read the cache pages before I go out...TFTC?

Big Pappa: I took a very pleasant hike to this cache on the way home tonight. The trail was quite muddy, but the views were spectacular. As others have mentioned, I, too was grateful for the spot-on coordinates. Like PurplePeople, I left a few trade items. Hopefully we'll see Big Pappa tally a few caches on the 'found' side of the board quite soon. But, a great start with this cache though! Thanks.

We took a family trip to hike the Bear Gulch Cave at Pinnacles National Monument.
Strawberry Fields Forever: On our way to Pinnacles for the day, this was a great place to take a break and stretch our legs. No berries being sold today, but plenty on the vine. TFTC.
A bit of History: This one had me and the kids running around in confusion for several minutes. Finally the my better half put down her book and walked right up to it. Nicely done!
Please Adopt Me: Daughter Claire stepped on this cache while we were searching. We knew where to put it back, though. Thanks.
Four Boulders and a Tree: The kids were starting to get tired of micros! Thanks for the opportunity to trade.
Are we there Yet?: As noted, the cache is wet and getting wetter. We dried out the inside of the log baggie, but the sheet is already shreaded. Sorry I didn't have a replacement in my pack.
Stop Saring at Me!: We found it on our way to Pinnacles. The rain was coming down pretty hard at this point so we didn't linger. TFTC.
A Green Valley View: Great camouflage! We found an evil looking millipede who had taken refuge from the elements under the container. Plenty of trading took place. Thanks for another biggie.
Old School: FTF! 2pm Not sure how this one escaped the weekend crowd. Perhaps it wasn't approved in time? Their loss is our gain! TFTC.
Turn Here: I though about reporting you to the blinker abuse police! Oh, that's just a CalTrans phone.
Split Volcano - Pinnacles NM East Earthcache: We decided to visit the park and take advantage of the opportunity to hike the entire length of Bear Gulch Cave. What a fantastic experience! At 6'4", I think I had the toughest time; some of those passageways were pretty tight. It was a day off school for the kids, but I'd be willing to bet they ended up learning more! Thanks!
WXYZ: Quick stop; I left the motor running and dashed over for the find. Thanks for the smilie!
Ready to Hike 2: Deserted at the gate for us; we paid at the vistor's center later on. Nicely done, but the cache was like a laser beam burning my cache hunting eyes!

No Trump Bidding Quiz: 2TF. I determined the procedure for solving this cache, but had difficulty with some simple math. UncleTom graciously pointed out my mistakes, and I was able to make the find tonight after work. Thanks for a fun puzzle!
March 27, 2006
The Chris Rock: FTF @ 4:40pm. Thanks for providing the opportunity for a short walk the Sawyer Camp Trail once again. The views were beautiful, and the sound of water running in the small streams that cross the trail was very pleasant. Fortunately, my visit coincided with a break in the rain, so I didn't get wet, and pretty much had the spot to myself. Unfortunately, finding the cache itself wasn't a pleasant experience. A little bit of PO is an understatment, and it will only get worse. The recommended approach is probably going to work only for the most sure footed cachers. (Granted, my use of this path was extra challenging since it was wet.) Thank goodness I didn't have my kids along. In spite of it all, I perservered, and the find was mine.

Gone Fishing: John, Ted, and I found this one together. What a nice stretch of waterfront! TFTC.

The Coin & Sig Item Share & Swap Event: Thanks for organizing a great event! It was fun putting names to faces and swapping stories. Picking up a few new coins was icing on the cake!
Bart: Colma Station: vaccine and I stopped by after an event. He's trying to teach me night caching. I'm a slow learner! TFTC.
Bart: Daly City Station: vaccine and I couldn't figure out how to get close to this one, so we took a tour of the station. Even after 9pm, it was suprisingly busy. TFTC.
Cache at Joe's: Plenty of contented patrons spilling out after a meal, but we persisted. Cool attachment device! TFTC.
This Should Be WalruZ's Cache: Night find after an event. Clear and no fog...except on the windows of several cars in the lot. Wonder what's going on in there? TFTC.

Smiley: Interrupted Shadow101. Didn't there used to be a multi around here? Hmmm...must be gone now. TFTC.
Just Horsing Around: Yup, my suspicions on this cache were confirmed. If you want to restore geocaching karma, immediately place three plentifully stocked ammo can caches at the end of short hikes with beautiful views. TFTC.
Noon Ride: Not as deserted as you might imagine! A couple of cable service trucks were parked at the cache, with both guys catching 40 winks. I suppose they've had a busy time of it lately. Not to worry, cache security is intact.

Palo Alto Baylands - Top of the Hill: I returned to the cache with the owner and signed the log before the cache was replaced. I love the carpet of new, green grass covering the hills. Thanks for inviting me along for a pleasant walk, geekster!
Vanishing Breed: Geekster and I looked around for a drive-in movie theater or a store selling 8-tracks, figuring that one would likely be close to this relic.
Tie-Dyed Coins: Nicely done. I was on the phone for a life-line when geekster noticed the duplication. TFTC.
Something to Read?: Great camouflage! Fortunately, I'd seen it before, making the find a bit easier. TFTC.
ROUND ABOUT: After getting nearby 'Hey Bubb', we were too close to ignore this one. Thanks for the smilie!
Hey Bubb!: A nicely crafted multi! Fortunately the park was pretty much deserted, and we could poke around in the bushes to our hearts content. The final container was looking pretty forlorn and empty, though. It needs some swag, but since the goodie bag was forgotten at home, we weren't able to help out with that. TFTC.
Home Brew: Geekster and I got a chuckle out of this one. Thanks!
Historical Stanford: How'd I miss that the last time??? TFTC.

A View of Henry Ford's Behind: After circling from Mr. Ford's front, I discovered bthomas scouring a patch of park in the rear. We searched in seclusion for several minutes. Our search was chanllenging since previous finders had *helped* the hide, and recent rains had smoothed things out quite naturally. TFTC.
Douglas's Elbow: I made the short hike to this cache at dusk after an all-day off-site work meeting at a conference center nearby. There were patches of snow on the sides of the trail. My GPSr was doing summersaults due to the tree cover and the power lines, but got me close enough to spot the fantastic giant looming eeirily in the fading light. Thanks for introducting me the upper end of Wunderlich Park.

The Five Senses: TOUCH: Fun! I resisted the temptation to pull out one of my caching tools and solved the puzzle as intended. At the final location I was interrupted by a group a seniors out for a walk. I can only imagine what they thought *I* was doing! PO is encroaching! Hopefully it will stay away. TFTC.
February 27, 2006
Happy Valentine's Day: I found it in the rain this morning. No cops and no tennis players, but a lone park worker in the distance. TFTC.

I Lost My Marbles: Crawburr and I were chatting, and realized that we were on the wrong trail. A quick little bushwhack through the tall wet grass led us to a geotrail, and shortly thereafter the cache. I had 2 marbles to trade, but one was the same as the others in the container, so I only left the one. TFTC.

Birthplace of Biotechnology: 2TF @ 3pm. Swoop and snatch; I signed over on the sidewalk.
February 11, 2006
Pheasant Run: First stop on my bicycle tour of the baylands. With beautiful weather, the duck pond was hopping. Everyone hurried off to their destination and paid me no mind. TFTC.
Plant Invasion: Lotsa people walking the trail; pretending to adjust the brakes on my bike allowed me to get down at the right angle to snag the cache without looking suspicious. TFTC.
Baylands Trail Junction: Nice spot to birdwatch...and sign the logsheet. Thanks!
Stroller Friendly #4: That's not my diaper!: Bike friendly too! Thanks for the rest-stop.
Pheasant Roost: As I rode up, herbk was rooting around. We continued to search for a few minutes, and then found it closeby. Great to meet other cachers in the field! Thanks.
Almost Natural: I stopped by on my way to a bicycle tour of the baylands. Lots of traffic, but I perservered. Nicely hidden!
Ling The Lang/Buzzcocks II: I was starting to despair...and suddenly, there it was, hidden just like you said it would be. Thanks!
Come Again: The turn-around point for my bicycle ride this lovely afternoon in the baylands. Thanks for luring me out!
See Clearly: I was suprised with the size of this cache, and I loved watching the wading birds hunting in the low tide mud. TFTC.
The 528 foot hole: Thanks for the geocaching putty!
And Again: Thanks for recycling this trail! I seem to remember another long-gone cache that was hidden not far from here.

Hillside Maze: Third time is the charm, I guess! Teamed up with NavySparks and vaccine which helped a lot. Nicely hidden. Thanks for showing me this corner of the park!
February 7, 2006
Upper Middle Trailhead - Belmont OS: My GPSr zeroed out at another suspicious spot, so I risked life and limb and stuck my hand in there to search around. No luck, and fortunately, no worse for wear, I moved on and finally had success. TFTC.

56 cache marathon with vaccine, geekster, and bthomas in Milpitas.
Weather Vane: RG&DL: Prepare for an onslaught of email! The first on our daylong Milpitas marathon. Thanks!
Twister: Very nicely done! Although he'll probably deny it, I don't think it was a purposeful action on vaccine's part that let to the discovery of this cache! He was just plum tired out and decided to rest his hand for a second.
Starlight Horseshoes: I've seen a few bocce lanes out caching, but never horse shoe pits. Thanks for the quickie.
Mystery Park and Ride - Milpitas: I happened to put my hand on the cache, so I knew it was there. I liked fact that we didn't have to fuss with the log too much! Thanks.
The Way Before the Bridges: Funny how time passes a spot by...some age gracefully, others, well...have more of a struggle. Thanks for a nice big cache in an urban location.
Duckey: I enjoyed the soothing waterfall and interesting architecture. TFTC.
in the middle of everything: Lots of people out for a trip to the nearby bakery (or was it a coffee shop?), but the cell phone store was locked up tight. Too bad, it's always fun to meet other cachers. Nice window cling! TFTC.
Bridge over Berryessa: I was quite proud of myself for coming up with this cache. Adjustment from vertical to horizontal thinking did the trick. Lots of people out walking and bike riding, but no one paid any attention to us. TFTC.
Lost Basket ball 1/2 Court: I was completely bamboozled on this one. After searching for a bit, I had settled on a particular object, and couldn't seem to stop trying to figure out how it related to the cache. It turns out there was no relationship at all. Just a plain old red herring. Meanwhile the others got the job done. Thanks.
Therapy Cache #1: Our search turned up some drug paraphanelia, which looked like very convincing camoflauge. I'd give at least $100 for a picture of bthomas confidently trying to screw the mouthpiece off of that bong. Good times! TFTC.
Therapy Cache #2: geekster and I each chose a spot to dive into the search, and mine turned out to be the right one. TFTC.
Therapy Cache #3: In order to retreive the cache, I set my GPSr down in the wrong spot and nearly lost it! TFTC.
Hiding at Hidden Lake: We parked in the wrong spot, but I was able to reach it anyway. TFTC.
Calle Oriente Park: Every park needs a cache. Thanks!
hey look.. a rock: I agree, this is one of those 'what *were* they thinking?' spots. TFTC.
Horse Tail: Very nice hide! I would have looked for quite awhile, but bthomas went right to it. Thanks!
Road to Adobe Closed: I'm pretty sure this cache had fallen out of its perch since geekster picked it up off the ground. Lotsa bicyclists whizzing by. TFTC.
Selwyn Park: We had the park to ourselves, which was a good thing since a fine-tooth comb search was required. Eventually the work was done. Thanks!
A Cow's Eye View: Nice green hills! Thanks.
Yosemite Passage: Fortunately the suspicious father who eyeballed us on the way in was out of eyesight at the cache location. Strange little spot.
Ben there, done that: Very nice execution! I always look forward to Geo Browns caches. Thanks!
In Around the Park: Although we knew exactly where to look, the cache was nicely concealed. I enjoyed the nice tiled monument with inspirational words and images. Thanks!
Once a Road: Progress, not always what it's cracked up to be.
Once a Fence: That RC helicopter was one of the coolest things I've seen on a caching trip! It was huge! bthomas and I watched it hover and swoop for quite a while. Oh, thanks for the cache too.
Berryessa Creek Bus Stop: There were several possible hiding spots, and geekster and I timidly searched. Fortunately, bthomas chose wisely and the cache was quickly in hand.
How Dry I am: This cache was not living up its billing today. There was a good flow in the little stream, and everything is starting to green up. It took a concerted effort to find the well concealed container. TFTC.
Knights Bridge Cache: geekster eventaully found this cache, but the find was made quite a bit more difficult by debris left when a tree was cut down recently. TFTC.
Off Target: Trying to hold a gpsr, pda, soda, sandwich, and bag of fries while searching for a cache is not easy. Just don't ask me to sign the log too!
Target Too: Still trying to finish my lunch, I decided to act as lookout on this cache. A couple of teenage girls in daddy's Navigator decided geekster, vaccine, and bthomas looked pretty funny...and I guess I have to agree. Does anybody know what that switch is for?
Dear Bowler, P.S.: Thanks for the smilie!
Milpitas or San Jose? : Somehow which city I was in seemed to be less important than whether or not the people on the other side of the fence would notice us. Thanks.
leaf something in Sinnott Park: This one seemed just a bit too brazen. Hopefully it lasts!
Yellowstone Park: Ahhhhh...juniper pollen. You gotta love it.
UNO JUNIPER: Quick find. Wow, it's turned out to be a beautiful day! Warm winter sunshine streamed in as we signed the log. TFTC.
Holly's Cache: We must have looked like gophers popping up and down in those bushes. Persistence paid off.
Sierraville-Tulare: An older gentleman and his wife were working on their immaculate yard just around the corner. Everybody has their own form of relaxation I guess! TFTC.
Pirate Creek: Hopefully we left this cache in better shape than we found it.
Eggs to Go: Eggs and beer. What an interesting combination! TFTC.
Berryessa Library Park Cacti Gardens: Interesting area, but sorry, that was a nasty hiding spot. Somehow, I was the one who ended up down on all fours trying to retrieve the cache, and am pretty certain that the spot has become the local litter box. The smell was pretty overpowering.
Berryessa Library Park #2: A lady interrupted our search. I thought she would ask what was going on, but it turns out all she wanted was a light. We all got a good laugh over the cache container. Thanks!
Station 19: Yes, I'm not too ashamed to say that I was the one who overlooked it. In fact, I put my hand right on the cache, picked it up, and quickly pronounced it the genuine article. Whoops!
Creekside Rest: Like Station 19, I gave the hide location a cursory search and announced that it wasn't there. About 10 minutes later, bthomas re-searched the spot and found the cache. I must be getting tired. It's been a long day. Definitely put in a larger container! TFTC.
Wildlife Center: Lots of muggles, but we slipped in for a find.
Just Ducky: Now I can say that I've found a cache while being honked at by an angry goose! Thank goodness for that fence. Somebody ought to take that dollar coin before it rusts away. TFTC.
The Age of Aquarius: I was still poking around when I realized that vaccine had finished signing the log. Group caching is the best! TFTC.
Murphy's Law Cache: After geekster made the find, I wandered away...there was just too much unaccompanied adult in the area. This cache doesn't seem to be living up to it's namesake law!
Penitencia "Dectructocache": We had the cache out and were examining the contents when a very curious muggle stopped to stare. I informed her that we were on a treasure hunt, which elicited a smile. She sorta seemed like the type to get down and look for this cache. Hopefully there won't be any trouble.
Former Berryessa School Building: This was a very interesting building. Thanks for pointing it out.
Full of It: I searched a couple of really obvious spots, and then noticed geekster motioning me to look a little further out. By the time I turned around, vaccine had it in hand. TFTC.
Flying Solo V.P.: It was right where you said it would be! TFTC.
Flickenger Duex: Very nicely done! 2 of the 3 big three sports in full swing, but the nearby picnicing facilities were empty. I loved the way bthomas replaced the cache without breaking stride as we left. Very smooth! TFTC.
Tea for Four: Approach from the residential side was sketchy. Walking around to the commercial side, we enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of the New Year season. Thanks for the diversion.
Brooktree: It was getting dark, and I was getting cold. The others were more persistent. Nice camo!
Frito Lay Passageway: I enjoyed the sign across the way: 'Don't feed the birds'. Never seen that in a parking lot, but if there are plenty of chips nearby, I suppose it could be a problem. TFTC.
Northwood Sign Only: Plenty of decoys here! Thanks for the mind games.
High Silver: Last one of the day! Whew, it's finally over. Tiring, but fun. TFTC.

TFTC.

West Toe: FTF! 3:15pm I noticed this cache pretty quickly after it went live, and was suddenly overcome with an incredible FTF seeking urge. Glancing furtively into the hallway, I noticed the boss' door shut...after all it's performance appraisal time. Perfect opportunity to slip out. Arriving at the western approach (Range to target: 0.35 mi; Elevation: 200') I realize the extent of the task at hand. Too late now, so off I head. Seven hundred vertical feet later, I arrive, not sure if I'm dripping sweat or fog. It's probably both. I signed the log, exchanged the ME for an AK, and took the winini token as an FTF prize. TFTC!

A 42 cache marathon with vaccine, geekster, and ghoff3 down in Morgan Hill.
Temple of Doom: Creepy fun! The first find of the day on our cache expedition. Many more to come. Thanks!
Shrub Side: Sorry, this one was found too many caches back. I'm not remembering a single thing. If Vaccine, geekster, and ghoff3 were here, so was I.
Cross Trails: 2nd of many kaesky caches today. Thanks for contributing so much to today's entertainment.
Ivy League: Our searching attracted the attention of a lady walking her dogs. The little yapper was on a leash while the big German Shepard ran free. Ultimately, I think we were more interesting than the dogs as she told us we looked 'official' with 'those things' in our hands. TFTC.
Along the De Anza Trail 1 - Gilroy: Gilroy? Hmmm...I thought this was Morgan Hill. No matter, it's a DeAnza Trail plaque and there's a cache. Thanks.
Basketball Jones: Very nicely done on the camoflauge! TFTC.
Vineyard's Vine: Given the recent history on this cache, there was quite a bit of chest thumping and back slapping on this one. It reminded me of one close to home: Gustine's Sister Cache. Thanks.
Walnut's Gap: Geekster found this one. We're starting to notice a MH trend: Microcaches with logs in HUGE zip-lock baggies. TFTC.
Tie A Yellow Ribbon: Cool idea for a cache! I loved the juxaposition of hidden and visible elements. Thanks for sharing.
Chesbro Dam: From an adventure standpoint, this was probably my favorite of the day. I figured out where the cache was right away, but laughed out loud when I realized what the hint meant. TFTC.
Mirasol Park: Yup, every park deserves a cache. Thanks for doing your duty.
Fox Hollow Park: I think we all checked the hiding place a least once before vaccine saw it (or was it ghoff3?). Very nicely done.
Irish Spring: Our favorite hide of the day. Like vaccine mentioned, we had a great discussion on the age-old geocaching question: 'Which comes first, the cache container or the place to put the cache?' Now that I've re-read the cache page, I think I'll change my mind. Loved the history lesson, BTW. Thanks!
Sierra Court Neighborhood Park: Vaccine's cache radar is good, but not that good. I think he peeked at the hint on this one.
Mystic Mushroom: Hidden? BaWahHaHa! Nothing hidden about the images on that mural. However, the most brazen move on this cache was geekster leaving car running around the corner while we found the cache.
Wright Stop: Nice hide. Pleasantly bigger than I was expecting.
Let The Sun Shine: After finding this cache, I think I mentioned that every once in a great while a blind squirrel finds a nut.
Diana's Rose: Tall as I am, I felt a little uncomfortable that close to the rather short fence. As a result, I hung back and let the others take charge. TFTC.
Sticker Shock: Not too many possibilities on this one. geekster and ghoff3 were snickering about a sticker they found, but all I could think about was lunch. Isn't there some fast food nearby?
It's A Kid Thing: Nice to find such a big cache in this location. Thanks!
Champagne Fountain: A team effort on this one since there were several people nearby. ghoff3 and geekster blocked their view, vaccine made the grab and replacement, and I did the paper work. Rah Team!
San Pedro Ponds Trail: Actually vaccine is only partially right. I told geekster to take a look in a particular spot, and he persisted until the cache was in hand. TFTC.
U Qwack Me Up: Nice little stroll down to the cache. I loved the suprise when we found it. Thanks.
Bonnie & Clyde: Persistance paid off. Good thing the bank was closed. TFTC.
Welcome to Morgan Hill: I hadn't read the cache page before the search started, so when I resorted to the hint, it wasn't too helpful. Somehow, I found myself alone just as I spied something suspicious, and kept it to myself so that they could enjoy finding it too. TFTC.
101 Excursion... Kirby Canyon: Honors, schmonors. They sat in the car while I did all the work. TFTC.
101 Excursion: Nicklaus Signature: I wish I had the tools for this kind of stuff. TFTC.
Secret Entrance: Coyote Creek Golf: A quick grab passing by. TFTC.
Coyote Creek Pool: Nice little hike to the cache. We passed a HUGE turkey vulture along the way scratching around in the brush. Neat. TFTC.
101 Excursion ... View: I was content to enjoy the view, but ghoff3 was all business. I think that guy in the truck was pretty suprised to wake up and find the four of us just accross the road. TFTC.
Bailey's Crossing: Vaccine and I scurried down to the cache while geekster pretended to have engine trouble. We found the decoy and then the cache. HaHa.
Coyote Creek Secret Entrance: I never knew about the pigs, but I do now! I would like to see some in the wild. TFTC.
Coyote Ranching: Nice pun! TFTC.
Coyote Crossing: Who's vdbalamo? Just kidding. TFTC.
Parkhere - Coyote Creek: Grossed out by spider webs, I didn't quite touch the cache even though I was feeling in the right spot. Vaccine made the find.
Pennies From Heaven: I was able to relive one of my favorite childhood activities on this cache. Thanks for the opportunity.
Golden Retreiver: A nice little hike with a great view and an unexpected twist. TFTC!
The Earth Moved Under My Feet: Thank goodness the park was deserted. We were there way too long and abused way too many innocent plants. When I finally had it in my hand, I felt relieved, not triumphant.
Robin Hood's Neighborhood Trailhead: Great camoflauge! That lady up the hill sure was watching us, but she was too far away to see what we were doing. TFTC.
Gateway Santa Teresa: Unexpectedly, this turned into a multi-cache for us. The city needs to get out there and trim those bushes! TFTC.
Santa Teresa Driving Lessons: Vaccine had the cache in hand even before I had decided where to look first. They were vacuuming up the range balls nearby. TFTC.
Club Santa Teresa: This was our last cache of the day. Whew! I'm tired. Thanks for a fun day.
Temple of Doom: Creepy fun! The first find of the day on our cache expedition. Many more to come. Thanks!

Upper Water Dog Trailhead: I stopped here to stretch my legs on the way home from work. Daylight was nearly gone, but while I didn't have any trouble spotting it, I did have to look occupied while muggles lingered at the trailhead. TFTC.
January 25, 2005
Chainasaurus: Yeah, what Kablooey says. I practically knocked the cache off it's perch with my flashlight, and still had to have him put his finger on it before I realized what I was looking at. I really ought to get more evil hide practice. Thanks for the lesson!
January 24, 2005
Hallmark Park: 23Jan: Scoured the area, but no luck. Great view though! 24Jan: My second pass revealed the nicely hidden cache. I had to contend with some early morning tennis players, but fortunately they were concentrating on the ball and not on me. Thanks!
