Big Tree at La Honda Creek OSP

By: KendraH and justbob Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Micro

We had stopped at the Methusalah tree up along Skyline earlier in the day. This one is probably taller; an awe-inspiring sight! Thanks for getting us here!

I am a Lemming!

I started out looking at the large downed log on the opposite side of the trail from where we eventually found the cache. Lots of interesting hiding spots there! And, yes, after realizing there was a cliff closeby, we did feel a bit like lemmings! TFTC.

Are You a Lemming Too?

By: AlphaRomero.com Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The first stop on our tour of La Honda Creek. I had a permit, but we discovered upon arrival that the gate was already open so that at t could make a service call down at the house. With bright sunshine and mild temperatures it's going to be a fun hike! TFTC.

End of The Road

The grass is still green and tall along the way to this cache, and we waded through plenty of it along the way. I can see that this was once a pretty choice area if you were a cow! Great views of hillsides and open meadows! TFTC.

More Lemming Bait

The third of three end-of-the-trail caches for the day. Hopefully development of the park will create looping trails! TFTC.

No Exercise Cache

By: the voucher Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We were on our way to get our exercise at LaHonda Creek OSP, but stopped by to find this cache. There were several groups getting ready for the descent, and a local pooch who was making the morning rounds. Thanks for marking this spot!

Ocean, Cemetery, City

Since I was a bit slow getting the GPSr turned on, we almost drove by this cache. A great spot on a scenic ridge. There were a few wisps of fog down below, but the views were still good. TFTC!

A lonely cache indeed, but what an incredible and unexpected view it brought us to! Thanks for discovering this place and pointing it out.

It seems I've had my eye on this hike for quite a while. After finally getting around to it, I'm really glad I did! The hills are still quite green and the grass is tall. Great views! Topping things off with lunch at Alice's made for a fantastic day. TFTC!

Spare Change

By: kobidge Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

A fun find in an urban, busy area! I'm glad I came on a Saturday...that made things easier. There seems to be some sort of apology written in a scrap of paper that has been placed in the cache. For the cache owner, perhaps? TFTC!

The Lonely Tree

I parked near the lower access, and enjoyed the short stroll up to the cache. Crossing the washed out section of the trail was interesting, and then discovering the storage trailer near the cache was a suprise. I wonder what's in it? Thanks for pointing out another hidden canyon! TFTC.

[8D]FTF![8D] 2:45p As I drove up, I noticed another car pulling in behind me. It turns out Navysparks Mrs had been out caching on this overcast day as well. Really great to see you guys; it's been awhile. There was some FTF smack going back and forth for a minute or two, but we soon had examined all of the tried and true hide locations, and quickly combined forces to make the search. We must have been there about 20 minutes before a tricky little thought dawned on me, et voila! That's a unique hide. Tthanks for the fun!

Got it...and it only took me 3 light cycles to get the dad-burned thing wound up tight and replaced. TFTC.

It looks like things are progressing with the renovations. I'm sure it will be very nice when finished. TFTC.

I love design and soaring lines of the bridges and roads on this interchange. Thanks for showing me this different perspective. TFTC.

On Approach

I felt fortunate to spot the cache quickly. This type can be tricky! A bit overcast and misty meant that I didn't have to contend with a lot of passersby. TFTC.

A Clamper monument in the Bay Area? Sweet! ...and a first for me. Thanks for pointing out interesting history, and providing a cache to boot!

What a drain...

A one of a kind container! Very creative. The log was completely soaked, but I was still able to sign the sheet and replace it. Thanks for a fun hunt!
