Along Ice House Road

By: MRC1925T Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

The last cache of a fun day exploring along Ice House road. Thanks for marking the turn-off.

Tribute To The Local Snow Enthusiasts

By: StealthCowboy Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

A quick stop as we headed back down the mountain. We searched higher spots first, but eventually found it near the waterline. Probably safe from snowmobilers, but I'm wondering if a fisherman might stumble upon it? TFTC.

Man Of The Mountains

By: StealthCowboy Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Thanks for pointing out a fantastic view-point! Lots of those in these parts, and I really enjoyed my visit. Covering the last 10 feet to the cache was a bit of a challenge. I stumbled a bit and nearly fell halfway down the mountain! TFTC.

Caches That Make You Say WOW!

By: Scoobert Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

A pretty spot with all of the newly fallen snow! TFTC.

Nature's Bathtubs

By: SNSpencer Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Not chosen

What a fun day in Crystal Basin! The river was really flowing over the rocks at Bassi Falls. I enjoyed the beautiful fury of nature and learning about this interesting erosional feature. Thanks for bringing me here.

Cleveland Fire & AirTanker 61

By: Geotigger & the EDGE gang Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

A pleasant park. Thanks for pointing it out. We talked to several fellow travellers who were interested in the amount of snow up at Loon Lake. TFTC.

Jacked Up!

By: supergeofish, t-sauce & Scoobert Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Even though I've wheeled to plenty of out of the way places in search of a smilie, there's never been a real problem. Knock, knock, knock. Oh wait, there was that time bthomas and I both got stuck in the mud on a 'dry' lakebed while driving to a kayak cache. Now that was an adventure, but we did make the find! Thanks for the short little tromp through the snow! I wanted to get a bit closer, I mean, it was just a little snow drift across the road there before the dam, but bthomas' good sense prevailed! Getting stuck would have been a chilly ordeal. TFTC!

12/30/??

By: Scoobert Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Beautiful area! I was glad to be out and about, and enjoyed the day with bthomas. Note to self: get some friggin' baskets for those treking poles. TFTC.

Vanilla Vodka and Pink Boots

By: Team Scoobert Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Found on our way out of Loon Lake. I'd like to camp in these parts sometime, but it's not happening anytime soon what with all of the snow. The cache was pretty well buried, but the hint was true and we perservered. Thanks.

Supply and Demand

By: LewisClan77 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

We were suprised to see that the establishment in question was already open. Plenty of traffic on the road though. TFTC.

Boo's Underoo Cache

By: Celtic DreamCacher Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

We had a fun day on Icehouse road. Quite snowy up at Loon lake and flurries all the way down, but nothing sticking. Thanks for the hunt.

Cedar Twist

By: P-ville hiker Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I made it harder than I had to by forgetting the old adage: 'Rightie tightie, Leftie Loosie'. A fun one! Thanks.

At the end of the Day

By: calkids Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The campground looks fantastic. Nobody there yet, but with warmer weather it must fill up. I replaced the mushy log sheet and torn baggie. Water dripping off the roof has been none to kind to this cache hide. TFTC.

Jeepers Creepers

By: Scoobert Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

This cache was a challenging find! Even with a very explicit hint and assistance of two previous bthomas visits it took about 15 minutes of very diligent hunting. Eventually my numb and cold fingers scraped back the corn snow in the correct spot revealing the tell-tale signs of victory. TFTC.

Count Bassi

By: ski3pin & old free heel Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

The widget pointed us into the middle of a thundering torrent as it cascaded down, so we rock hopped our way out there only to discover that there really wasn't any place it could be. Eventually we spied the cache where the hint made a lot more sense, but took about 10 minutes to get over there. Thanks for the adventure in a beautiful spot!

SnowBound

By: Just a Short walk Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Plenty of wandering around in the manzanita and 3" of snow. Finally we found it close to the place we first started searching. Sigh. TFTC.

Welcome to Pinnacles

By: debnchris24 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We picked this cache up on our way out of the park after a weekend of camping and hiking with a group of Webelos scouts. Thanks for keeping a cache going at this spot. I believe I found one across the highway on our previous visit.

County Line

By: Tiki Treasure Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

We took the scenic route back from a weekend at Pinnacles. Thanks for getting us on this wonderful backcountry road. Great views as we descended down the canyon. Plenty of action at the gun club as we passed by! TFTC.

Just Listen

By: momagna Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

We decided to take the scenic route on the way back from Pinnacles NM. Thanks for luring us down this pleasant road! Two cars passed while we were signing the log, so it wasn't quite as quiet as I would have liked. TFTC!

Chalone Creek Fault ? Precursor to the San Andreas

By: TerryDad2 - adopted by Mauison Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Not chosen

I was visiting Pinnacles NM with my son's Cub Scout den. We camped two nights and took a hike up Bear Gulch (through the talus cave), accross High Peaks, and down Condor Gulch. The views were great! The air temperature was in the 70s, but the sun was mighty fierce. I'm glad I wasn't there on a HOT day! Thanks for pointing out another aspect of this very geologically interesting area.

BIG PARK ? tiny cache

By: TheRodds Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Lunchtime quickie. A great day to get out. One of San Bruno's finest was spending his break in the park with his family. No suspicions aroused by me though! TFTC.

Tribute to Elmbaek #2

By: jesperqvist Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Of course, I had to get this one as well: lunchtime quickie #2. Kind of a strange little spot back in there near GZ. I never new it existed. TFTC.

Tribute to Elmbaek #1

By: Team Zach Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Driving back to work, I happened to turn on the geocaching app. What?!? New caches? A quick left, right, right, right and lunchtime quickie #1 was mine. Spontaneous caching, I love it. TFTC.

The 10 Year Celebration Multi-Cache

By: Geoides Family Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

During the event, there was some discussion of whether or not any caches had been placed to entertain the attendees. I had planned on it, but ran out of time. As a result, the discovery of this cache created quite a stir! The stages were found out of order, but eventually everything made sense. Thanks for making our 10 year anniversary celebration complete!
