Preserving the TB Hotel

By: TeamOrville Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Day five of our trip up North to camp and explore, and we're finally heading home. A quick exchange. TFTC.

White Deer Mountain

By: Ken24 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Day five of our trip up North to camp and explore, and we're finally heading home. A quick grab and go made a little more adventurous by the construction barricade: After leaving the cache, I opted to stay on the shoulder side and then had to traverse a slightly collapsed section of the road...no problem in the jeep though. TFTC.

Going Coastal in 07'

By: GeoJakenfam Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Day five of our trip up North to camp and explore, and we're finally heading home. This was a quick stop after driving the scenic route from Orick to Weitchpec to Willow Creek to Arcata (no caches close to the route...but awesome scenery). TFTC.

Southbound Vista Point Give Us a Sign

By: Huntnlady, adopted by crazycavelover Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Day five of our trip up North to camp and explore, and we're finally heading home. There was a huge RV parked closeby, but I was able to squeeze the jeep in front to block their view. Fortunately the sign provided further cover. Nice view! TFTC.

Salmon Creek State Park

By: Huntnlady, adopted by crazycavelover Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Day five of our trip up North to camp and explore, and we're finally heading home. By this point it was getting really HOT. Thanks for the chance to stretch our legs.

Miyasis Dragon

By: Zack, Keith, Louise and Debbie Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Day five of our trip up North to camp and explore, and we're finally heading home. This was the last cache of the trip, and it turned out to be quite an adventure. You gotta love the mis-rated oldies with difficulty/terrain suprises: A steep side hill, loose rock, slippery dry grass, poison oak, plenty of inviting snake habitat, and two 7yo boys to keep an eye on. Nevertheless, it was an interesting area along the river and we were sorely tempted to cool off in the river, but time was getting late. TFTC.

"Flying Tree Cache"

By: Tigger 2 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

Day five of our trip up North to camp and explore, and we're finally heading home. This was a really educational cache. I had no idea! The boys enjoyed playing engineer and imagining that they were bringing the logs to the mill. Thanks!

No Spore Print

By: xjrob Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Day four of our trip up north to camp and explore. What an awesome spot. There was a really big bull elk along the path to the beach. A bunch of idiots decided it would be fun to walk towards him carrying sticks and knocking them together. The elk immediately stood up. They continued. The elk started swinging his antlers through the grass and tossing clumps around. They still continued. Finally the elk got fed up and charged them. He only pursued for about 50 feet, but that was enough to send them running all the way back to the parking lot. Potentially deadly, but still quite funny. TFTC.

Enjoy the view

By: Arse & Hemi Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Day three of our trip up north to camp and explore. Today it was the coast road. Unfortunately the fog had the view completely socked in, and the only evidence that we were close to the ocean was the very faint sound of the surf breaking way, way, way down below. By the time we made it to the WWII radar site, the fog was breaking up and we could appreciate the views. TFTC.

River on the Rampage

By: QuarterCrazy Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Day three of our trip up north to camp and explore. Today it was the coast road loop. In a couple of locations along our path we had noticed the signs marking the Dec '64 high water mark. Scary and impressive. Thanks for marking this historic spot.

Ghost Town

By: Frontbar & Momma "G" Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Day two of our trek up North to camp and explore. What a cool place! The kids ate blackberries, cherries, and apples. I was a bit unnerved by all the bear scat, but managed to keep my thoughts to myself. Thanks for breaking up our trip!

Even Moa Dunes

By: VyCache Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Day two of our trek up North to camp and explore. This was another out of the way spot that I had wanted to check out. It was a kind of lonely spot right at ground zero, but we could hear the ATVs racing around in the distance. Thanks for breaking up our trip!

By: Joe and Ed* Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

By: tvcook1 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Day two of our trek up North to camp and explore. This was another out of the way spot that I had wanted to check out. Ted found a starfish up on the breakwater and we spent quite a while watching the fishermen catching crabs. Thanks for breaking up our trip!

Big Critters With Antlers

By: NCFLYERS - The Double J's of Fortuna, CA Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

Day two of our trip up North to camp and explore. We never did see any elk at this spot, although we drove by many times during our stay. Fortunately, there were plenty of them in other places closeby. We loved the area! TFTC.

Laytonville's First Cache

By: Huntnlady Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

By: MartianRabbit Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

We were on our way up North to camp for the weekend and taking the scenic route. This was supposed to be a quick stop and go that had us scratching our heads for a while. Thanks for breaking up our trip!

By: Huntnlady, adopted by crazycavelover Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

By: Ovalteam Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

We were on our way up North to camp for the weekend and taking the scenic route. We had lunch in town at the quickie-mart. Probably not the best choice, but, hey, it was the fuel to get us to the next cache. Thanks for breaking up our trip!

Bay Area Quadrangle Challenge

By: mjp303 Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

Kinda strange writing a log to myself. Goal accomplished: 'nuf said. SL.

Lobitos Lookout

By: wstefanc Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

Out for a pleasant group hike with a great bunch of cachers. How wrong I was when I assumed my own cache placement along this trail (...and I'm not talking about Pure Quality Bald Knob; I didn't place that one, just adopted it. [;)]...) was further out than anyone else would consider as a destination. Thanks for the trail's end challenge!
