Bay Area Ridge Trail - Timber #3

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

This one was tough. We spent a long time searching unlikely spots closer to where the widget zeroed. Eventually a careful reading of the cache page led us to a find. Thanks.

Bay Area Ridge Trail - Rustic Reststop

As we approached this cache, the wind was really blowing up the ridge above us. It was fun to watch the tall trees swaying back and forth. Lots of creaking and scraping of branches, but next to us at ground level relatively calm and still. I dropped a coin. TFTC.

Bay Area Ridge Trail - Timber #2

Except for the occasional whine of a motorcycle from far above, we were all alone on the trail during the entire hike. A great way to relax and enjoy. Thanks.

Bay Area Ridge Trail - Timber #1

After passing the fifth mile marker on our trek north from the Wunderlich side and still having a ways to go, we're of the opinion that this trek is a bit longer than the cache page advertises! My track log was 5.8 miles. A typo perhaps? Not that is mattered too much as we were still having a great time. Nevertheless, my reputation of leading hikes that ALWAYS (kid's emphasis!) longer than what I plan remains intact. TFTC.

Bay Area Ridge Trail - Springboard Notch

By: TimberToo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Small

Our traditional Black Friday hike got delayed due to inclement weather yesterday, but today was just fine. It was a bit blustery and cool in the shade, but we enjoyed the solitude on the trail. John used the notch on his way up to examine the hiding spot, but Ted scrambled up behind to make the easy grab. They were both quickly off down the trail, which left me to do the paperwork and replace the cache. I dropped a coin. TFTC.
