Lord of the Views

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

[8D]FTF![8D] 11:30a We'd been planning a hike in Windy Hill OSP for today, and I chanced to check the email this morning right before heading out. Whoa! Freshly approved cache! I'm really glad I checked; I would have been pretty irked to have gone to the Earthcache and missed the chance for another one right there. In any case, it was a beautiful, but hazy day. Moderate temperatures and a slight breeze made for a perfect hike. Thanks!

Somewhere Like a Monkey

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. We had just finished our find on this cache when the owner came up the trail. Nice to meet you and GoGoJo! We took a bunch of pictures, but unfortunately they're all spoilers so they'll just have to stay in our private album. TFTC.

Even Better Valley View

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

We were out for a family hike and geocache outing today. The haze reduced the impact of the sweeping vistas, but we had a great time nonetheless. It was fun to pass a friend on the trail; what are the chances of that? Actually though, there were many people out enjoying the beautiful weather. Thanks for placing caches along this trail.

Teensy Valley View

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. Great day for a hike! This was an interesting spot to the kids due to the irrigation pipe discharging water just next to the cache. The sun was hot and everyone took the chance to fill up their cap with cool water and dump it over their head. Ahhhh! Refreshing. TFTC.

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. This was a nice spot to take a break, and a cleverly hidden cache. Thanks!

Valley View: Bites & Stings

By: GoGoJo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. Fortunately we made it through without any bites or stings, although we saw plenty of wildlife: rabbits, lizards, butterflies, bees, swallows, hawks, tadpoles, and a snake. We hoped to see a green heron, but alas, that wasn't in the cards. TFTC.

No Valley View

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. We can report that the bees are doing just fine. There is a sign now warning people not to molest them. Again it was a natural spot to stop, and the frequent groups that passed us by had no idea why we were really stopped. Thanks for a nice big cache!

Valley View

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. We didn't find the geotrail to the cache, and ended up having to pick stickers from our socks after we finished our hunt. Thanks for placing the caches along this trail.

Cattle Chute

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. I agree, this spot just cries out for a cache! Groups of hikers were passing by every few minutes, but no one could tell what we were really doing there. TFTC.

We were out for a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today. Thanks for showing us an interesting spot.

Gazing Across a Plate Boundary

We were out today for a hike and cache hunt in Windy Hill OSP. It was a beautiful day, although our views were somewhat obscured by the smoke in the air from fires in Northern California. Living with the possibility of an earthquake is something we have to take for granted around here, and it was a good opportunity to point out the force of nature at work to the kids as we stood looking out over the San Andreas fault. Thanks for the earthcache!

We had planned a family hike and geocache hunt in Windy Hill OSP today, and travelled Old LaHonda Road twice shuttling the cars so that we would only have to hike downhill. [:I] Thanks for a diversion along the way! We must have passed at least a 100 bicylists on their way up to the top. Several of them looked like they would have liked to hang on to our bumper! TFTC!
