Whats up with Anchors anyway by A Team & Binky Del Mar
Size: (small) Difficulty: Terrain:
Our second wherigo hunt, and things went smoothly this time. Thanks for the additional hints after advancing the cartridge to GZ! That was a tough hide, and I wasn't too confident in the ability of my iphone widget to zero. The neighbor muggles came into play a bit as we could hear them cheering the niners to victory. Thanks. mjp303

The Preserve Visitor Center by A Team
Size: (regular) Difficulty: Terrain:
What a great place! We ended up spending quite a while looking at the exhibits and talking with the docents, who were friendly and knowlegable. Great work they're doing here, and a fun hide. TFTC. mjp303

Taking Time for Granite Earthcache by PathfinderMark
Size: (not chosen) Difficulty: Terrain:
It was somewhat of a suprise to find an EC right here next to the Ferry Terminal. Thanks for the information. A beautiful winter day to be out and about! mjp303

SS Solon Turman by b4alltime

All quiet late on a Saturday. Very interesting along the waterfront here. TFTC. mjp303

San Francisco Bay Delta Estuary by PathfinderMark

The last cache of the day. Interesting to learn more about this area's history. mjp303

Old Gray Mare by dgreno (adopted by workerofwood)
Size: (virtual) Difficulty: Terrain:
I've passed by Vallejo and Mare Island several times en route to other geocaching locations, but always wanted to explore the area a bit more thoroughly. Thanks for pointing out this interesting history! mjp303

Mare Island Historic Park Foundation by A Team Vallejo
Size: (micro) Difficulty: Terrain:
The museum was closed today as we passed by, but we felt well rewarded by all of the intersting things we were able to see and access. A very sucessful trip to Mare Island! mjp303

Mare Island Historic Cemetery by A Team
Size: (micro) Difficulty: Terrain:
This cache was one of our primary objectives for today's outing. bthomas went to work with his camera while I followed the arrow and signed the log. I had no idea that Mare Island had been around as long as it has! Thanks for the opportunity to reflect on the lives of those who went before. mjp303

Mare Island Commissary by A Team
Size: (small) Difficulty: Terrain:
bthomas and I thought we'd try a few wherigo caches. A bit confusing, but eventually we got to the end and found the familiar container and log sheet. One of Vallejo's finest stopped by mid-cartridge thinking we were up to no good, but we were able to convince him otherwise. Thanks! mjp303

Fire One! by TeamMoehrke
Size: (virtual) Difficulty: Terrain:
Thanks for the virtual! Pretty quiet late on a Saturday afternoon, especially given the fact that the 49ers were engaged in a playoff game. mjp303

Dry Dock by Binky del Mar
Size: (micro) Difficulty: Terrain:
To me, this was the most interesting and amazing stop of our day. Wow! I had no idea. There were several workers underneath a ship in the smaller dry dock, and they looked puny next to the propeller. And to think that the larger granite dry dock was even bigger! TFTC. mjp303
