Z - is for Zebra

By: NamGuy Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

After learning about the Hearst zoo the day before, we were keen to spot some unusual wildlife, but alas it was not to be. Plenty of green grass everywhere, so I figure they don't need to come down by the fence! TFTC.

Definitely a spot worthy of a long trip in order to visit. Fantastic! TFTC.

Beach Bum Takes A Holiday

Whew, that wind was chilly! A storm coming in I suspect. Thanks for a fun hide in a very scenic spot.

BeachGate

Headed all the way up the coast today, so no time to stop and hike. Thanks for the fun cache along our way!

Boulder Holder

A quick stop to grab a cache in another DeLorme map page. This trailhead appears to be quite popular, there were cars lining the road for quite a distance. TFTC.

Roosevelt Highway Fountain - Lucia

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

A very interesting reminent of an earlier time! The way this road perches on the edge of the cliffs is amazing. TFTC.

Roosevelt Highway Fountain - Elmer S. Rigdon

By: WalruZ Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I loved watching for the original stonework along the highway near this cache! Many stretches still remain, and I'm sure many have fallen victim to the elements. Very nice. TFTC.

Owings Memorial in Redwood Gulch

By: campyc Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

What a beautiful spot. I loved the water tumbling down the rocks! Like others have said, sort of a bushwhack to get to GZ, but well worth the effort! TFTC.

Albino Sempervirens

By: Touchstone Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

We slogged through the muddy campground (glad we weren't staying here!) and made a fairly quick find. The kids were disappointed find just a stump with a few sprouts, but it lead to a good discussion of why the tree wasn't the most healthy one in the forest. Thanks!

Great Wall of Gorda

Great views! Thank goodness for cliff stabilizing technology!

Gem of Big Sur

A very busy spot on a Springbreak weekend, and definitely worth the hype. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot!
