Rogue Ramblers' 45-Step Birthday Cache: With 36 hours to think about it, and confirmation from a previous finder that I was looking in the right spot, I returned this morning for a second attempt. That's a tricky little bugger! After making my way through the 45 stages...again, I eventually made contact. Thanks!

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines: No drag-racing today, just jogging and cycling. TFTC.
Which Way?: Wading through the weeds, I got a bunch of stickers on my pants. I was positive the cache would be on the object of interest, but vaccine came up with the find closeby. TFTC.
CLEVER ENDEVOUR!!!: Ditto to all the stuff vaccine said. On top of all that, I was kinda distracted by the Dad with his kids who was watching us pretty closely. Thanks for the smilie.
GBttS # 16 "Baseball Cards & Holly": Thanks for showing us the mural...the trash, weeds, and urine smell I could do without.
Waiting for School: There were lots of kids playing in the park and people out for an evening walk, but we were able to snag the cache during a brief break in the traffic. TFTC.

America's Stars: Prime park time for several families made this cache a challenge to hunt. Thankfully the trees obstructed the key lines of sight for just long enough to score a find. Thanks!
Halfway House: vaccine and I were out for an evening of caching. I think this one was the longest we walked from car to cache...nearly 0.2 miles...whew! What a couple of slackers, huh?

The Sixth Sense: vaccine and I were out for an evening of caching in the East Bay and had finished up over there on a DNF. Not wanting to wrap up that way, I suggested that we try this new cache. The views were great and I found four tennis balls before suggesting to vaccine that he shine his light on a spot that, in the dark at least, seemed a bit more than 1.5 stars. Ahh, that's the ticket. No mojo for me, I found it on try #5. Oh, by the way, if you check the trash cans along the way, there's dozens of cache containers waiting to be collected! TFTC.

Pelecanus Tomicus: Great view! Thanks for pointing out this spot. I zeroed within 15' of the cache, so, for me, the coordinates were just fine. IN: Benchmark pin; OUT: Heads / Tails caching button; BTW, I found the blatent disregard for the 'No Parking' signs out on the road quite amusing! TFTC!

Midway: We biked out to this cache as a family on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. John (6) found the nicly camouflaged cache. Thanks for luring us out of the house!
Pit Stop: The bench was occupied on the outbound trip, so we deferred our search to the return. Unfortunately, the bench was still in use at that point, too, so we stopped for 'a rest'. The muggles weren't going anywhere, but neither were they paying any attention, so I just pulled the cache out. Even the clunk of the opening lid didn't seem to distract their conversation. We went about our business and put it back like they weren't, for all practical purposes, there. If it goes missing, I owe you an ammo can! Thanks.

Bayfront Revenge: I found the nicely hidden cache pretty quickly, but it was jammed into its hiding place so tightly that I couldn't get it out right away. With some sort of a class coming up the hill, I had to abort, and went on to another cache nearby. On my way back, I had the time to work it out. I'm not sure how it got stuck; it was sliding freely when I replaced it. TFTC!
Element #6: Ahhh, yes...carbon. My favorite ingredient. I left a travel bug. TFTC!

Shopping by the water: So I drive up, and am greeted by the delicious smell of barbeque...where's that coming from? Looking around, there's a huge grill/smoker attached to the back of a pickup truck a few spaces over with smoke pouring out of the chimneys! Somebody's cooking right in the parking lot! Amazing! TFTC.
The Da Vinci Cache: This was a fun puzzle that I solved a while back, but only just had the chance to find the cache. Very nicely done! I had to wait out quite a few joggers and bicyclists, but enjoyed watching the egrets and sandpipers hunting in the marsh. TFTC!
'belly up": My desire to keep a clean slate finally overcame my aprehension of being caught. Hrumph!
Collete View Cache: For some reason I was looking for something a bit bigger, but PurplePeople's log focused my search. The guy at #18 knows something's up.
Beware of the Horsemen: As I arrived, pdx55 was puzzling over the poor coordinates. Fortunately, I didn't realize this cache was rated 1/1, and started searching agressively. After trying a few likely spots, I stumbled upon the nicely concealed cache. I'm not too sure what the hint means, but perhaps something about koala bears would be more appropriate? Nice to meet you, pdx55! TFTC.

Another visit to Taiwan for production support at SPT: It started out with a typhoon (...only category 1) and ended up with heat and humidity you could cut with a knife. There was lots of long hours and hard work in the middle, and, luckily, one single, solitary cache.
southern taiwan science park: Another visit to Taiwan from the United States for me, and voila! a cache only 1.5 miles from where I'm working. Amazing! So we came over to visit the park and find the cache tonight. The breeze made it pleasant, although I was drenched with sweat by the time we made it back to the car. I found the well hidden cache, and traded three travelling geocoins for one travel bug tag. (If you remember my last visit, I took a TB, but didn't have one to leave in trade...hopefully this visit will make up for that one!) Thanks for the adventure.

Dizzy: An early morning find, but I can feel the heat coming. My GPSr was the dizzy one on this cache. It told me to start searching about 50' from the actual zero, and I had to search a lot of places before found the cache. Thanks!

Element #60: I was hoping for a magnet or two, but I suppose that I'm a bit too late to realistically expect that since even the little ones aren't cheap. From one geek to another, thanks for the brief tutorial on magnetism!
Been Here: Elko and Reamwood: Thanks for sharing your trip down memory lane! I found the cache in great shape, and I'm not sure why it has the 'needs maintainance' attribute. Traded pins. TFTC!

The bus stops here?!: 2TF @ 5:30p. Well, I didn't intend this to be #1500, but having DNF'd 'Kiss of the Oceans' up in SF at lunch-time, that's the way it turned out. Travelling this route twice a day for the last 4+ years, of course I'd seen the bus stops, but never given them a second thought. Quite mysterious. I felt a bit exposed, but no one gave me a second glance, and the milestone was mine. TFTC!

A cache blitz in the Central Valley with geekster and vaccine. Why we went into that oven is beyond me. Man was it ever hot!
Keep it Moving: After finding a great hide nearby, I thought this would be an appropriate place to drop a travelling cache. There are plenty of routes headed north here, by both road, rail and water. Keep this cache headed on its way back to Oregon!
Roads' End: I think we did 5 of these end of the road caches today. All slightly different, but every time we had to back-track the way we came. Go figure.
Vines N Roses: Since it was the first one of the day, and nothing was open yet, we attacked the area like nobody's business. Our persistence paid off!
Signs and Wonders: Since it appears that this road travels off to nowhere, I'm not sure I understand the significance of the sign. However, given that this is California, I figure somebody must use it to get from here to there. Thanks for the chance to stretch our legs!
Tracy Triangle #3: HOT today. I nearly burned myself trying to sign the log on a sun-soaked guard-rail. TFTC.

Car vs. Train: Geekster and I decided that the coordinates had to be off and started checking out the area of interest. Vaccine decided to look at the old logs on his PDA before venturing over. After convincing himself we were right, he pretty much walked right up to it and made the find. I think the heat is affecting my brain!
Tracy Triangle #5: I think we picked a good day to look for this cache! There were only about 6 vacant cars in the lot, and a couple of them were abandoned. TFTC.
Lite UP!: Our three sets of trained eyes knew that the area of interest was a little 'stuffed' in short order. Thanks for the smilie.
Fast Food III: I think vaccine was a little perturbed they didn't carry his favorite brand of smokes at the business adjacent to the cache. This ain't the bay area, buddy. Thanks.

Tracy Triangle #7: Geekster explained to me about the business at this cache. It might be nice to pay your fuel bill once a month...on second thought, that might be quite a shock.

The Down Under: I think I might have been the only one in the group with a reach long enough to make the grab. When it was all over, I ended up with grease and spider-webs on my hands, but it was well worth it! A great hide! Thanks!

Woodfield Park: This park appears to be a bowl. Does it fill up with water after it rains a lot? Like vaccine said, I was really careful to put the cache back where it belonged...I think I flipped it over my shoulder as we left. (...just kidding...) TFTC.

Movin' Dirt 2....Caterpiller Inc.: Having lived in IL for a good portion of my life, I always thought that Peoria was where it all started. Thanks for filling me in on some more of the history.

End of the Road #58-Brunswick Road: I felt bad for that horse, tethered to the fence in the blazing sun. I think somebody was hoping he'd eat some of those nasty weeds in the ditch. What the h-e-double toothpicks was winini doing out here at 3:24am for an FTF??? TFTC.
Springtime Park: I cleaned the earwigs out of the cache, and took that little robot/alien figure for my trouble. I liked the way you attached the cache!
Delta College Farm Lab: It seems everyone's got an internship this summer. TFTC.
End of the Road #60-Junction Drive: The heat was really starting to get to us on this one. I wandered around in the hot sun for about 5 minutes too long. Finally geekster put us out of our misery.

A day trip to Mount Hamilton and back with geekster and gitonyerhorse.
Fairchild Superfund: We couldn't find any evidence of this area's unsavory history: It appears the job is complete. Thanks for the tour.
Emma's Park: Out with geekster and gitonyerhorse today. It appears there are lots of changes in progress for this park: there were construction fences all about and lots of remodelling in progress. TFTC.
Moons Over Mount Hammy: Long and winding to get to, but definitely worth the trek. Moffet field looked like a tiny speck in the distance. I sat my GPSr down on that stump and it got covered with sap. grrr. TFTC!
Landings and Lights: We were puttering about the fence for a while, and saw a take-off and a landing. I'm pretty sure someone in the tower picked up the binoculars to check us out.
The Twin Gates: Usually a trailhead cache tempts me with the prospect of a hike, but not today. It was too hot and too dry. Thanks for the chance to stretch our legs on the way to the top though.
The White Barn: Our arrows were twirling on this one, but eventually we found it. We noticed what was probably a mountain lion trap on the way back to the car.
Grant Lake Trailhead: There was something in the trash can that the wasps liked, and that black widow was guarding a couple of egg balls in the shade close by. Fortunately the cache's hiding spot was insect free!
Fisherwoman's Favorite Firefighters: This cache has us bamboozled for a while, but eventually gitonyerhorse found it in a spot that geekster and I were sure we'd already checked. Thanks!

We took a road trip to Joes Valley for the Olsen Family Reunion. Along the way we found some caches. It was seven days of dust and dirt and few showers. FUN! Oh, and it was great to see lots of cousins.
Day 1: Redwood Shores to Elko
pride of winnemucca: I found it at dusk before quickly moving on. TFTC.
MEMORIES: This was a really interesting spot. The smell reminded us of garlic fields back home in California. TFTC!
K7XC #7 - NV Crossroads - Hwy 80 & Hwy 95: My son spotted a TB laying on the ground shortly before we found the cache. Thanks for breaking up our trip!
Day 2: Elko to Joes Valley
Break the Monotony of I-80 E1: The thermometer at the trailhead read 90°C, which I figured was pretty cool for this spot. The warning about scorpions and snakes added a bit of excitment to the trek. Thanks!
Between a rock and a hard place: On our way down to Joes Valley for a family reunion. The kids really appreciated all the great swag in this new cache, and we traded like crazy. I think it was Ted (6) who made the find. Thanks!
Electric Lake Overlook--Partnerships Benefit All: On our way to a family reunion in Joes Valley, and taking the route through Scofield which is new to us. A very pretty spot. TFTC!
4 Generations at Schofield: Our first time on this road. Thanks for the chance to stop, stretch our legs, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Day 4: Around Joes Valley
Shaw's Shower: We were visiting Joes Valley for a family reunion, and this was one of the closest to our campsite. A very interesting diversion and quite unexpected in such an arid spot. TFTC!
Day 5: Joes Valley to Cedar Hills
What Is This?: The family reunion is over, and we're on our way back to civilization. Our urge to cache is only slightly stronger than the one for a nice hot shower! Thanks for tempting us to stop and enjoy the view.
Shinob stash: On our way back to civilization after a family reunion. Everyone's along except the oldest, who's attending girls camp herself back in California. TFTC.
Potter's Pond: 'Only 0.25 mi to the cache? How difficult could it be?', I thought to myself after concluding there was no trail. (If there was one, I don't want to know!) It turned out to be a fun challenge with plenty of obstacles (a stream, a bog, dozens of downed trees, mosquitos, horse flies, stinging nettle, sharp branches...need I go on?) SL LN, but took one picture (there are 6 remaining) and plenty of memories. When the film gets developed, I'm the sweaty one covered with bugs and sporting the completely contented grin. Now, put that track up on the GPSr so I can find my way outta here!
Potter's Pond is the oldest cache in Utah, and the one I'd been counting getting since the start of the trip. Everyone else stayed back at the car, and thankfully so since it was a bug-infested bushwhack of the highest order. Lots of fun and good memories.
FAIR~VIEW?: So, we're driving down the canyon after a family reunion at Joes Valley, and I notice some folks climbing up the hill in a pretty strange spot. After a quick glance at the GPSr, there's only one conclusion: geocachers. So we stop and join the fun. Pretty soon, we realize that it's 4 star fun. And I'm wishing we were down on solid level ground. Thanks for the smilie, and nice to meet other cachers in the field.
Welcome to Fairview, Gateway to Skyline Drive: After that 4 star up the canyon, we decided that some refreshment was in order. Hey look! A cache only 150' away! Thanks for something more our speed. I picked up FamilyFun geotoken #136 which will travel home to California with us. TFTC.

Launch Pad #3: We were looking for a bug to take back to California, but unfortunately found that the countdown on the launchpad had been halted. Thanks for the stroll in the sagebrush!
No swimmin' pools, No movie stars...: Well, we thought we knew where this one was going when we saw the freeway exit sign, but caching always throws some interesting twists. Oh, there was nothing out of ordinary about the hide, and we laughed at the joke, but just as we were getting ready to leave, the proprietor of the local establishment came out to greet us. It seems that he has noticed some unusual activity in the last few weeks: 'There's sure a lot of folks stopping by recently, and I wondered what's going on?' Well, I proceeded to give my best GC.com PR speech, showing him my GPSr, PDA with cache description, cache container, log sheet, etc, etc, etc. I figure you can consider the guy fully informed now. He was pretty suprised that all of this has been going on under his nose for over a year now, though, and did mention that he didn't appreciate the person who was digging around the base of his sign. Perhaps you should mention in the cache description that it isn't hidden on private property? TFTC.
Beowawe Rest Break I-80 Westbound: A quick break on our way home to California. We had the place to ourselves, and the only animals we saw in the 'Pet Area' were three huge crows. After making the find, we dashed back to the car since it had just started to rain. Thanks!
punto del hierro cache: John and Ted (6) made the short trek to the cache with me. There was great swag, and we traded! Thanks for the diversion.
OFF Agin(or on?) 2: I was hunting caches in different Nevada counties on the way home to California. I'm not exactly sure which one this one is in, but hopefully it isn't Washoe because I've already got that one. Thanks.
Give a man a "GHOTI"- corollary 1 to "OFF agin": I looped by this cache on the way back to the road home. I found it camouflaged by an old shirt. That's a first! Thanks for the diversion.

Elevated Awareness - Coyote Point on a Budget: The first time I saw this cache, I laughed out loud. The second time, we got down to business, and it was fun all the way! A bit late for my meeting with KT, she was just about ready to put on her Wonder Woman outfit and snag the cache herself, but I convinced her my way was just as good. Thanks! I've been in a bit of a caching funk and this was just the ticket.

We found 25 caches at the GBES rally and actually won the night portion of the race. Sheer dumb luck, I suppose! On the day course we flatted and were unable to continue. Pretty discouraging, but those are the breaks of off-road adventuring!
GBES 3RD ANNUAL GEOCACHING AND NAVIGATIONAL RALLY: What a fantastic adventure! Great camraderie, incredible scenery, and challenges that really put us on the edge. Boy, am I sorry we didn't stay for the awards ceremony. Thanks for organizing a great event!

San Bruno Free Way version 2: It was great to be back in this area of San Bruno Mountain park again. The trail was completely overgrown with waist-high grass in most places. I had to do several back-and-forths at the creek crossing to spot the trail because it was almost completely overgrown. Crouching over, I was able to slip through. Towards the end of the hike, I met up with a couple of fellow travellers and introduced them to geocaching. We found the cache together and signed the log. They continued on up the hill, but I had to go back to work. I left a benchmark pin. Thanks!

After finding the cache, I watched a group from the USGS getting ready to do some mapping (...actually I'm not really sure what they were doing!) 4-5 guys were loitering about the dock while one guy worked feverishly over a really big, fancy laptop in the back of what looked like the USS Minnow. The boat was labelled 'USGS survey vessel'. It was a funny sight. I wonder what kind of highpowered mapping software they had on that computer? You see the most interesting things while out caching. 35 Years of Service: 2TF @ 12:30p Thanks for the lunchtime excursion! I've been a chemist for 14 years; ten in Illinois and 4 in California. Fortunately most of that time never really seemed like work; it's great to get paid for playing around in the lab. I noticed from the sign that Mr. Sam Volante worked for 47 years. WOW!

Kings Mountain Road: Suddenly there was a little cluster of caches on King's Mtn Road, so I grabbed the boys and headed out. The GPSr was still pretty squirrelly after having lost its way during the ascent, but we noticed the hint in short order and soon after the cache was in our hands. We had fun pawing through all the great swag, and ended up trading toys for coins. Thanks! ...looking forward to another.
Teague Hill: What a nice little hike! Although the road was bustling with traffic (cars and bikes of both types), we only saw one other group of hikers at the trailhead, and had the route to ourselves. John and Ted enjoyed exploring ahead on the trail and searching for banana slugs. After reading the Teague Hill webpage, I learned a new word...'viewshed'. C'mon, that's made up, isn't it? We traded toys for coins, and took the TB. TFTC!
The Lost Village of Summit Springs: Second attempt. After parking, we noticed that there was a couple taking a nap about 20' from where we searched last week. Drat! Fortunately though, now there's 'Teague Hill' nearby. Off we go. On the way back, what's this? Still asleep. So we play in the stream. NOISILY. After 5 minutes, they get the clue. This time the search yields sucess. I'd swear somebody uncovered it a bit since last time. Lots of trading. Thanks!

Sunset Lane: Wow! What a satisfying cache find! Winding around on the nearby streets for what seemed like forever, I finally stumbled on what was obviously the trailhead. Quickly the trail led into a beautiful hillside path that climbed past the cache and finally looped back. I hardly noticed. The Buckeye trees in bloom and a warm breeze buoyed my spirits. The air was clear and the views spectactular. Exactly what caching is all about for me! Thanks so much. One odd little note: I noticed a series of 3 mail boxes along a dirt road and behind a locked gate with no houses in sight. Again, what a great cache.

Pirates of the Peninsula: At this morning hour there were plenty of people out getting some exercise, so I had to be careful. I thought there might be some interference with my GPSr signal, but fortunately not. A nice large cache with plenty of goodies for the Cub Scouts to enjoy! I traded a TB for a travelling coin. TFTC!

Mission 7: Crab Creek (Project APE): Wow! I finally did it! An APE cache...but definitely not the one I expected. Maggie and I travelled out to the East coast from California to attend my brother's graduation from GW Law School (geonick ben500...maybe he'll have more time for caching now ...oh, wait, I forgot he still has to pass the bar exam. ) Since the morning was free, I knew this was going to be the one. No way I was going to get within 25 miles and not make the attempt. Since this wasn't really a caching trip, we muddled along as best we could. Of course, the GPSr just got us to the general vicinity, followed by lotsa wandering around looking for a suspicious pile. Ahhh, there it is. Just as we were hiding things, along came spoon! totally intent on his business. We had a pleasant chat; it's always nice to meet another cacher. Left a TB; took a TB. Thanks for the adventure!

green: I decided to take a long lunch today and pick up a couple of San Bruno Mountain stragglers. It's amazing how many springtime flowers there are up here; and I'll never tire of looking down on the planes as they climb away from SFO. By the time I got this cache and the nearby TA hide, it was probably closer for me to just hike back to the office...but then I wasn't sure who I could get to bring me back up to get the car. TFTC.
No Star (bucks): A cache in hand is worth two in the bush...or so I'm told. Before leaving the car, a little voice told me, 'It's a TA hide, don't forget the leatherman.' And I'm sure glad I didn't. Loved the hike and views; appreciated the hide. Amazingly, I got just as sweaty extracting this one as I did 'Isuzu gone'. TFTC.

Deer View: It's been quite a while since we've been out on a cache hunt as a family, but this one was the perfect opportunity: close-by, short hike on a scenic trail, and a big container to trade in. The kids were bug-eyed when I pulled it out since they've been on plenty of underwhelming (from a trading perspective!) micro-cache hunts with me. The mosquitos were quite thick, which suprised me, since the area doesn't really seem moist enough to support them. Traded TBs. TFTC!

Don't Blink: The gentleman working in his garden just a few feet from the cache was definitely distracted by us taking pictures of each other. That's a funny looking camera...it almost looks like a GPSr! TFTC.
Paicines Reservoir: We ran into rain734 at this cache. Quite a coincidence to meet them here since they are from close to home on the peninsula. I swapped a TB, which they propmtly took to move further south. TFTC.
Road End: I think I was occupied with getting something to eat out of the cooler while vaccine found this cache. Thanks buddy!

'G' Is For Ghost Town: What a cool place! Even though nothing has been taken out of the ground here for over a century, it was still easy to envision all of the bustle and activity that must have once taken place. The editorial comments about the Sierra Club were quite entertaining. TFTC!

Clear Creek: We stratched our way into this cache. I won't wear shorts next time, that's for sure!
San Benito Mountain II: vaccine and I tagged along with tour-guide geekster for a fantastic trip up Clear Creek and to the summit. What a fun adventure with million dollar views. It was definitely worth the effort to get here. I traded TBs. TFTC!
Looking at You: geekster, vaccine and I tried to contour our way up to this cache. All we really accomplished was getting stuck by sharp plants. After wandering all over the hillside, we finally zeroed in on the hide. After taking care of business, we let gravity guide us back to the road. TFTC.
Tumey Hills: 'The quest for the spoon' proves vaccine, geekster, and I are certifiable caching freaks. 8 miles out of our way on washboard dirt roads, across a field of grass that inbedded thousands of those razor sharp seeds in my socks and shoes (I already thew the socks away and the shoes are probably ruined), and up a cliff (yeah, let's be honest, that's what it really is), all to find a cache with no other redeeming virtue other than a SPOON!?! Well, it was an Iron Chef spoon, after all. Thanks for providing the adventure.

The Rock Pile: I zeroed out some distance away from the hide, but I think the others were too tired to prolong my agony; they just motioned me over after making the find. TFTC.

The Crag: Just as we were driving up to this cache, a guy on a bicycle rode by. It seemed quite out of place. I'll bet he was thinking the same thing about us! TFTC.
Tray's Pinos Hotel: This was the last cache of the day during a tour of Clear Creek, San Benito Mountain, and New Idria. We stopped so that geekster could put some air in the tires on his jeep, but the compressor at the station left a lot to be desired. TFTC.

c.f.m: I was at this cache about 7:30p, but couldn't make the grab since there was a father and daughter playing catch nearby. So, I left to find another cache. When I returned, c.f.m and her dad were there for an owner visit. They looked for the cache in the place where they hid it, but a previous finder had improved the hide, which I was able to spot. It was very nice to meet you c.f.m! TFTC.

Go Left - I Mean Right: I took a surveying course one summer when I was in high school, but the only thing I remember about it was that we did a lot of math with paper and pencil. The puzzle was a quick solve for me, but finding the cache was another matter. I got side tracked for quite a while by an alternate meaning to the hint, which fits really well with a close-by sign that shows a man, a dog, and a shovel. TFTC! In: a travelling geocoin; Out: the 'Take me to your leader' TB.

Burra-Burra: We stopped off on our way into Coe Park for the Backcountry weekend. The fog was whipping over the ridge making everything cool and wet. Dolphin Encounter: Group FTF! So I was approaching the first waypoint, and I heard a couple of car doors slam shut and the 'approaching' beep of a GPSr. Yup, it's Eagle81 and Eagles Wing. Actually, the fact that we approached from different directions helped us overcome the one of the little twists this cache throws. The container seemed a little empty, so I left a bunch of swag and a SC geocoin. Trade fair! Oh, I took the other coin to move on. Thanks for a fun multi!

Tee Time: We were on our way to this cache when it decided to rain really hard, so we took refuge under a tree for a few minutes. After that, we found the cache just fine, but then realized that there was a homeless family in the bushes about 100' away. I think their son saw my boys and his curiosity got the better of him. I was going to try and explain things, but we didn't speak the same language. I'm sorry if the cache goes missing, but I'm hopeful they may not have been close enough or paying attention enough to figure things out. It was a sad scene, but an important lesson in life that we discussed on the way back to the car. TFTC.
Element #2: Mom and the girls went ahead to Grandma's house to help with Easter dinner preparations. That left me and the boys with a little time to burn. We really enjoyed the walk to this cache. Not too muddy, and only a few sprinkles. We signed the log and traded a couple of toys for an unactivated Team Leggoes geocoin. Trade fair!

Traffic Jam: FTF! 8:30am. My zero for the posted coordinates was in a spot that just was not possible. However, since the search area was considerably constrained by the terrain, I was still able to find the nicely camouflaged cache. Thanks for the pleasant morning walk! TNLNSL.
Theodore's Walk: Java & Gems: My first stop on the series; it was a quick find, and I sat on the nearby bench to sign the log. On the way back to the car, I disturbed a herd of ferral cats who were feasting on the food that some benevolent soul had left for them. I'll be Theo would have liked to check out that place! TFTC.
Theodore's Walk: Remembrance: My GPSr had me wanting to trample in a very nice garden that it apprears someone has taken on as a personal project. I resisted the urge, and had the cache in hand shortly. I'm starting to see where this whole thing is headed!

Theodore's Walk: Java & Gems: My first stop on the series; it was a quick find, and I sat on the nearby bench to sign the log. On the way back to the car, I disturbed a herd of ferral cats who were feasting on the food that some benevolent soul had left for them. I'll be Theo would have liked to check out that place! TFTC.
Theodore's Walk: Remembrance: My GPSr had me wanting to trample in a very nice garden that it apprears someone has taken on as a personal project. I resisted the urge, and had the cache in hand shortly. I'm starting to see where this whole thing is headed!

Theodore's Walk: Final Reward: What a view! Thanks for bringing me up to see this picturesque spot. My zero was a ways off, and completely devoid of any possible hiding spots, so I had a couple of choices as to where to search, and unfortunately chose incorrectly. Really though, I didn't mind spending the extra time--it was so beautful. Eventually the find was mine. I signed the log, and rescued a TB. TFTC!
Coastal View Travel Bug Inn and Spa: I stopped by, and swapped bugs. IN: Lexington Minuteman; OUT: Adventurous Arachnid. Everybody smells really nice! TFTC.
This Stop: Vallemar!: There were lots of people out for an evening stroll; no wind to speak of in this sheltered place. TFTC!
What More Could You Ask For?: Well, since you asked...here's what I'm asking for: (1) Less wind! It was really howling tonight, and I almost lost my hat with the no snowmobiles pin on it; (2) Thinner fingers. No additional comments there. As it turns out, there were no muggles to dodge, and I had the view to myself. Thanks for that!

Sky Can: I felt like an archeologist while trying to unfold the log carefully. Shores Scout scrounged up a little zip-lock baggie, but it was too big. The log is probably beyond salvage anyhow. Interesting spot!

Rosita Park: I found this a while back, but evidently forgot to log it. I came again today, and things were looking strangely familar, but didn't realize it until I saw my name in the log! TFTC.
Half Dome in the Park: That's just wrong.
Ex Post Cacho: There was a steady stream of visitors to the nearby establishment. Oh, I get it...the last Sunday before Tax Day. TFTC.
Jumping Poles: I found it after poking around a bit. It was quite a struggle to get the rusty bent lid off. Took the TB. TFTC.
Bay Area Calibration Point #1: I was out caching with GPSr only, and didn't realize what this was until now...Whoops!
I Just Had to Sit Down: I shloshed my way over from 'Juan'. All that mud on my shoes made for a tough haul. Hopefully no horses until things dry out a bit. TFTC.
Juan Slept Here: A quick find, but for some reason I had a devil of a time extracting it. Fat fingers I suppose. Boy, is it ever muddy. Beautiful view from the top of the hill just past the cache. Thanks!
Pirate's Booty: All quiet on a somewhat stormy afternoon. TFTC.
Diridon Station: Not a good start...it took me 15 minutes in the rain to find this cache. I probably looked right at it 5 times before realizing what I had. What a stinker!
Race Station: A little more walking that I expected since all the parking lots were chained off. TFTC.
VTA Fruitdale Station: I found the cache and then stopped in for a soda. One of San Jose's finest was there getting a snack too. TFTC.
VTA Bascom Station: Ahhh, that's more like it: 15' from car to cache. Thanks!
VTA Hamilton Station: I definitely got lucky on this one. There were plenty of places to hide, but I walked right up to it.
VTA Downtown Campbell Station: Ohhh no...the code is missing. Not insurmountable...I think. Sorry, I didn't have any fresh logs with me today: this cache needs attention.
VTA Winchester Station: I had to wait until the girl at the drive-thru expresso shop got a customer. Also, I found a pair of scissors and a roll of clear packing tape right next to the cache...weird. TFTC.
End Station - VTA Mystery Cache: A fun series! Fortunately the rain held off long enough for me to get everything done. With one of the clues missing, I was able to determine two sets of coordinates. Fortunately, I chose correctly, and knew I was in the right place before finding the final cache. I signed the log #100. Thanks for all the hard work putting this together. I'm glad I had the tour!

ERIN GO BRAUGH !: 2nd attempt. I drove up, and there was British Invasion just starting to size things up. We searched. We checked the previous logs. We searched again. I called a lifeline. He didn't remember the cache, but I kept talking. Eventually we got a bit of help. Finally, we went back to searching, and finally there it was. Whew! What a struggle.
Juana Find a Cache?: I attempted to complete this cache as it was designed, but the park was packed with Moms and kids on this sunny Saturday (a rare thing lately), and I felt a few suspicious stares. So, I checked the hint and wandered off. The find was mine in the second place I checked! TFTC.
20th Anniversary: Very nicely done; I loved how the hide fit the cache theme. It'll be 20 years for us later this year. Congratulations to you, and best wishes for all the years to come. TFTC!
Marsh Miles: I almost didn't make the trek back out for this cache. But, since it was a perfect day, I decided I couldn't pass up the trip. A nice cache and a glorious hike. Thanks!

Itsae ucan dits ab igone: What an interesting spot. Thankfully the library was closed because I circled the spot several times before figuring things out. Nicely done!
Byxbee Park: A quick find, but a challenge to put back since I neglected to notice exactly where or how it was attached. (I assumed I didn't need to be precise!) So there I am, stalling while waiting for a muggle break, finally getting one, and then not being able to put it back. Quite comical actually. TFTC.
Stumpy: I was curious about what goes on at the building down the path, but it looked a little creepy, so I didn't investigate. TFTC.
Traffic Patterns: Odd, and interesting. It took me a while to get to since I guessed wrong about which side of the freeway it was on. TFTC.
Silicon Valley Hanging Tree?: Thanks for the history! I found the cache in good shape.
Shred it, Dude!: Thanks for pointing out this park. As I pulled up, a family arrived. Dad was going to skateboard, and his 2-year old had big plans too! He couldn't carry his too well, but was pretty good at laying on it and paddling along with his hands! Cute. TFTC.
Booked: Peaceful spot. Latest book: Whatever the kids pull off the shelf. TFTC.
Duck Dock: Approaching the cache, I noticed a strangely familiar dog, a Mom, and two kids. Then, at the last minute, I saw Shores Scout, hunched over his backpack, with a look on his face like I'd caught him with his hand in the cookie jar. My timing was perfect, and he handed me the log. TFTC!
She Sells Sea Shells: First of the day. Finally, sunshine on a Saturday! I love this park when everything is green. Thanks for the hike.

Y Palm Park: I'm confused. I found a micro cache with an unsigned log in a place about 30' from my zero. Also, I see that the hint doesn't match. Can I claim FTF on the backup cache??? I suppose I should read the cache pages before I go out...TFTC?

Big Pappa: I took a very pleasant hike to this cache on the way home tonight. The trail was quite muddy, but the views were spectacular. As others have mentioned, I, too was grateful for the spot-on coordinates. Like PurplePeople, I left a few trade items. Hopefully we'll see Big Pappa tally a few caches on the 'found' side of the board quite soon. But, a great start with this cache though! Thanks.

We took a family trip to hike the Bear Gulch Cave at Pinnacles National Monument.
Strawberry Fields Forever: On our way to Pinnacles for the day, this was a great place to take a break and stretch our legs. No berries being sold today, but plenty on the vine. TFTC.
A bit of History: This one had me and the kids running around in confusion for several minutes. Finally the my better half put down her book and walked right up to it. Nicely done!
Please Adopt Me: Daughter Claire stepped on this cache while we were searching. We knew where to put it back, though. Thanks.
Four Boulders and a Tree: The kids were starting to get tired of micros! Thanks for the opportunity to trade.
Are we there Yet?: As noted, the cache is wet and getting wetter. We dried out the inside of the log baggie, but the sheet is already shreaded. Sorry I didn't have a replacement in my pack.
Stop Saring at Me!: We found it on our way to Pinnacles. The rain was coming down pretty hard at this point so we didn't linger. TFTC.
A Green Valley View: Great camouflage! We found an evil looking millipede who had taken refuge from the elements under the container. Plenty of trading took place. Thanks for another biggie.
Old School: FTF! 2pm Not sure how this one escaped the weekend crowd. Perhaps it wasn't approved in time? Their loss is our gain! TFTC.
Turn Here: I though about reporting you to the blinker abuse police! Oh, that's just a CalTrans phone.
Split Volcano - Pinnacles NM East Earthcache: We decided to visit the park and take advantage of the opportunity to hike the entire length of Bear Gulch Cave. What a fantastic experience! At 6'4", I think I had the toughest time; some of those passageways were pretty tight. It was a day off school for the kids, but I'd be willing to bet they ended up learning more! Thanks!

Ready to Hike 2: Deserted at the gate for us; we paid at the vistor's center later on. Nicely done, but the cache was like a laser beam burning my cache hunting eyes!

No Trump Bidding Quiz: 2TF. I determined the procedure for solving this cache, but had difficulty with some simple math. UncleTom graciously pointed out my mistakes, and I was able to make the find tonight after work. Thanks for a fun puzzle!

The Chris Rock: FTF @ 4:40pm. Thanks for providing the opportunity for a short walk the Sawyer Camp Trail once again. The views were beautiful, and the sound of water running in the small streams that cross the trail was very pleasant. Fortunately, my visit coincided with a break in the rain, so I didn't get wet, and pretty much had the spot to myself. Unfortunately, finding the cache itself wasn't a pleasant experience. A little bit of PO is an understatment, and it will only get worse. The recommended approach is probably going to work only for the most sure footed cachers. (Granted, my use of this path was extra challenging since it was wet.) Thank goodness I didn't have my kids along. In spite of it all, I perservered, and the find was mine.

The Coin & Sig Item Share & Swap Event: Thanks for organizing a great event! It was fun putting names to faces and swapping stories. Picking up a few new coins was icing on the cake!
Bart: Colma Station: vaccine and I stopped by after an event. He's trying to teach me night caching. I'm a slow learner! TFTC.
Bart: Daly City Station: vaccine and I couldn't figure out how to get close to this one, so we took a tour of the station. Even after 9pm, it was suprisingly busy. TFTC.
Cache at Joe's: Plenty of contented patrons spilling out after a meal, but we persisted. Cool attachment device! TFTC.

Just Horsing Around: Yup, my suspicions on this cache were confirmed. If you want to restore geocaching karma, immediately place three plentifully stocked ammo can caches at the end of short hikes with beautiful views. TFTC.
Noon Ride: Not as deserted as you might imagine! A couple of cable service trucks were parked at the cache, with both guys catching 40 winks. I suppose they've had a busy time of it lately. Not to worry, cache security is intact.

Palo Alto Baylands - Top of the Hill: I returned to the cache with the owner and signed the log before the cache was replaced. I love the carpet of new, green grass covering the hills. Thanks for inviting me along for a pleasant walk, geekster!
Vanishing Breed: Geekster and I looked around for a drive-in movie theater or a store selling 8-tracks, figuring that one would likely be close to this relic.
Tie-Dyed Coins: Nicely done. I was on the phone for a life-line when geekster noticed the duplication. TFTC.

A View of Henry Ford's Behind: After circling from Mr. Ford's front, I discovered bthomas scouring a patch of park in the rear. We searched in seclusion for several minutes. Our search was chanllenging since previous finders had *helped* the hide, and recent rains had smoothed things out quite naturally. TFTC.
Douglas's Elbow: I made the short hike to this cache at dusk after an all-day off-site work meeting at a conference center nearby. There were patches of snow on the sides of the trail. My GPSr was doing summersaults due to the tree cover and the power lines, but got me close enough to spot the fantastic giant looming eeirily in the fading light. Thanks for introducting me the upper end of Wunderlich Park.

The Five Senses: TOUCH: Fun! I resisted the temptation to pull out one of my caching tools and solved the puzzle as intended.
