Somewhere in Los Altos Hills: I had to make a trip to SJC this morning, and was lured off the freeway by this cache. Perhaps it was just the time of day, but I sure felt like I was walking through somebody's backyard. I half expected to turn around and find a guy in a bathrobe sipping coffee on his deck and eyeing me suspiciously. In any event, nothing like that happened, and I found the cache after a nice little walk. The ground next to the cache was littered with orange peels; probably some kids playing explorer or something. Looking at the cache page after the fact, I realize that I probably walked right by a puzzle cache. Grrrr. I guess I should download those to my gpsr more often! Thanks!

A caching marathon with John & Ted.
Old Oaks, New Trail: Wow! Lots of change here since our last visit. Started our on the new trail from the new parking lot. Shortly thereafter made a course correction, but spent awhile wondering about the new trail thing. Ahhh, there it is. Great views and a fun walk! Took a couple of things, left a $2 bill. TFTC.
The Five Senses: SIGHT: We came; We SAW; we found! FUN! TFTC.
The Motherlode #3 - Monarchs of the Forest: This is still my favorite trail discovered while geocaching. Back for a third visit, I'm sure there will be more. Thanks for the excuse to refresh and relax once again!

My First Cache in Taiwan!
Nan-ying Tsung-yeh Arts and Cultural Center : I am visiting Taiwan from California for business at the Tainan Science Park. Fortunately, I was able to convince a couple of my collegues that geocaching might be fun, and they drove me to the cultural center for the hunt. Since it was their first time, I let them use the GPSr and experience the thrill. We found the first stage with no trouble, and then enjoyed a very nice lunch-time walk to the final location. Hopefully I've created a lasting interest in Geocaching for them! We signed the log, and I took the TB, but am feeling a little guilty since I didn't have one to trade. Sorry. Finally, thanks to the cache owner for information about the location and a map. Geocachers really are a great bunch! Thanks!

Ravenswood Fishing Pier: Deserted, probably because the tide was out and there was no water underneath the coordinates. Nice warm-up prior to a little hike. TFTC.
Bay Crossing: This was an enjoyable DNF. As I scrambled underneath a variety of structures that appear to be in serious need of a sesmic retrofit, I thought to myself, 'Please don't let the big one happen right now!' BTW, the mud has pretty much dried out, but I would not advise a trip out here once the wet weather sets in.
In honor of Charlie Brown: I approached the scene to find NS&Mrs there for a second try. While they were searching, I dealt with a couple of neighbors who were intensely interested on what was going on. Since that's one more muggle encounter than my limit, it was time to move on. I see from recent logs that the coords were off a bit.

Pizza: NOT on the Menu: 2TF! 5:50p. When I noticed this cache appear, I hopped right on it, but was about 10 minutes behind another un-Event regular, Bodie. Thanks for the acknowledgment; it's been fun to hang out with everyone at these gatherings. As long as there's good company, I'll eat pretty much any kind of pie, except, of course, the dreaded pickle relish and creamed corn pizza. TFTC.

Its Spring: Got it! Nothing to reminisce about for me, but I do like to drink spring water. Unfortunately, all of it comes from a bottle purchased at the store. That's just the way it is these days, I guess.
Journey to the Moon: Sometimes gravity just places you in the right spot. That's what happened to me on this cache, since I was convinced it was located elsewhere. Very nice. TFTC.
Legend of the Blue Pearls: The Beginning: Fortunately the groundskeeper and the dog walkers were intent on other things. Thanks!
Legend of the Blue Pearls: Lost Souls: This cache had me befuddled for awhile. I enjoyed the peaceful morning walk; nothing spooky for me! TFTC.
Legend of the Blue Pearls: Beckoning: I enjoyed sitting on a sand dune after signing the log. Quite peaceful. Thanks for showing me the inviting spot!
Legend of the Blue Pearls: Marguerite's Margaritas: Nobody was around to care if I parked in the restaurant lot, and I enjoyed the 'challenging' (read 'scenic') path to the cache. An interesting perspective on a place I'd visited before. Thanks!
Legend of the Blue Pearls: Man Overboard: With low tide, there were plenty of birds to look at. Fascinating! Duck, here comes the harbor patrol. TFTC.
Legend of the Blue Pearls: Fishtrap: I made this cache harder than it had to be, and ended up exploring quite a ways on either side of the object of interest. Actually the walk was quite interesting, thanks! Eventually, a lifeline straightened out my lack of perspective, but I had to contend with a fellow who had rowed his dory to a nearby spot and commenced maintainance. Since he was determined to ignore me, things turned out okay. Very nicely done.
Legend of the Blue Pearls: I enjoyed the walk to the final cache, and although I'm a bit acrophobic, enjoyed the views along the way. Finding the cache was a challenge, and when I had examined the easier hiding places, again 'phoned a friend' for encouragement. The picturesque hide soon revealed itself, and my thumping heart gave me the satisfying rush of adreniline that I craved. Really, it's nothing dangerous; I'm just a wuss. Thanks for a very enjoyable series.

Typha Latifolia: I zeroed out right on top of spot it was eventually found, but didn't see the cache. John (5) took a short tumble, but bounced up, proclaiming, 'I'm okay!', and he was. Whew! Craw found it. Nice job!

Back To This Park: 5:30p Whew! This one was tougher than I thought it would be. Even though it was dusk, there were people everywhere: walking dogs, working in the drive-way, coming home from work...I got the evil-eye from several of them. I spent quite awhile pawing around in the wrong place, and then walked right up to it. TFTC.

Z's Favorite #1: Second visit! Thanks for humoring a cranky cacher and switching things around. There was a significant amount of work that went into the design of this multi, and it really is worth the trip! The views were great today, and I enjoyed the perspective from the new final hide. TNLNSL.

Bev-Mo Park: Well, you don't have to step off the path if you're Yao Ming, but, as the sticker in the cache container says, "NO WHINING", so I won't. Thanks for the smilie.
Cedar Street Park: After figuring out the set-up, I probably should have left this cache for another time: The park was packed with families enjoying a beautiful Sunday morning. Unfortunately, I didn't, which was fine...until the time came to put it back. I had to have one of the kids come over by the hide so that I could pretend to tie his shoe. Actually, I'm pretty proud of myself for thinking of this ruse. Thanks for showing us this park. We'll be back!

Hot Wheels: I woke up this morning and thought to myself, "Okay, today is the day!", since this cache has been on my nearest page for about 2 years now. After finishing the trek, I'm sorry I waited so long, although the terrain was quite challenging. Thanks for the great down and up(!) and down once again(!!) adventure.

Totally Buggin': A quick find out of sight from people spending their lunch break in the parking lot. Why don't they get out and take a walk??? Well, at least their sedentary ways made my job easier. Thanks!
Castaway: I knew what it had to be, but still couldn't come up with the goods. Thanks for the stroll and the views though.
The Guy-y Cache: I found the cache partially buried in excavated dirt. Some sort of buried cables are being placed in a trench that runs literally a couple of feet from its hiding place. It suprising to me that the workers didn't notice the cache. I tried to hide it better, but it's still uncomfortably close to the work site.
Redwing: No birds today, but I enjoyed the hike all the same. Thanks!
Cool Cache View: A great view of the bay and planes on approach. I see a lot of the same over in my neighborhood on the other side of the bay, but never tire of it. Thanks!
Oyster Rustler's Point: I enjoyed exploring this stretch of the bay front. It looks like some sort of development is starting up nearby. I'm kind of confused about what the boundries of the park actually are. Thanks!
Cardiac Stretch: Thanks for showing me this great walking trail. Plenty of people out enjoying the mild temperatures on a Friday afternoon. I searched for a while, but the flowers on the bushes have gone to seed, and every time I would poke around in there I'd get a seed bath. Yuck! Still, as others have mentioned, I'm suprised I couldn't spot the cache. Thanks!
CITO Cache - San Leandro: I found the cache just sitting there in the weeds with 3 CITO kits and a damp log book. I tried to hide it better, but given the container's size, it was tough.
Marina Park - Northern Micro: Dogs and their owners, a soccer game, and plenty of people out getting some exercise (including me!). Thanks.
South of Marina Park - Southern Micro: The caches in this park are on my nearest page, so I though I better make the trek accross the bay and check things out. Thanks!
Wonder how you get there?: 3TF. I love the things you see while caching: So, I'm walking along and here comes a small hawk carrying a large rabbit. The rabbit is kicking and squirming like crazy. It's so heavy, and the motions are so vigorous that the hawk can't hang on and stay in the air. So the hawk drops the rabbit...onto the highway. In its fright, the rabbit runs into the tunnel. Five seconds later, I hear a loud WHACK! Talk about going from the frying pan into the fire! Oh, I found the cache too. Thanks.

Spooky Spooky Halloween: FTF! 8:32pm I haven't had the urge to go for a FTF for quite some time, but when this one came up, I knew I would probably have to be fast! It was definitely creepy in the dark with plenty of night noises and steep unfamiliar terrain. I was starting to despair, but suddenly there it was. Victory! TFTC.

Littler House at the Park: Rough, rough, rough, ahhhh...smooth. One of the best parks around, we used to play here all the time before moving further north. TFTC.
Papua New Guinea Grove: A very cool place! It was quite busy on the Farm today: Football and homecoming I think. Thanks.
C or N?: I needed a lifeline, but had it a few minutes after that. How could anyone see the 'C' first? Quite a few cyclists passing by, not a single one walking that bike. TFTC.
Duck!: Very happy to have DNF'd this one the other day. This time I followed WoW...you know what that means: I finally collected one of those sig tokens. TFTC!

Heron's Head Park: After aborting an ill-conceived plan to cache in the east bay, I ended up here. (What was I thinking trying to cross the Bay Bridge late on a Friday afternoon???). The place I found was a very pleasant suprise! Upon arrival at the cache site, I interrupted a pair of aspiring artists that were engaged in self-expression on those granite blocks with a sharpie marker. They were curious about my GPSr, and once I explained things, they watched me search a bit. Shortly, the 'drawing' was done, and they departed. I had actually spotted it earlier, but decided not to pull it out until they left. Caches 28; Days 18. TFTC.
CalTrain - 22nd Street: A sooty find. I actually never spotted the train station. TFTC. Caches 27; Days 18.

Ravenswood Trailhead: Thanks for pointing out this neglected stretch of bayfront. I took a professional interest in the chemical plant nearby. Those are some serious distillation columns! I didn't recognize the name of the company though, so I'm not sure what they're doing. TFTC. Caches: 36; Days: 21.
View with a Bridge: Great hike! RR really was in a hurry to get home last night! I found the cache container in plain sight. Either that or the hide has disturbed someone's home. I did see a few marsh rats on my way out there. The view of the old bridge was very cool. TFTC! Caches: 35; Days 21.
Marsh Catwalk: Guano Gauntlet has been "out-planked"! Thanks for the adventure. I got a chuckle out of your stash note! Perhaps you should mention that removal of this cache is 'subject of civil and criminal prosecution' as well! Caches 34; Days 21.
Baylands Bridge: Approached from an EPA access point, which saved a few tenths. It was a uprisingly busy area. Thanks! Caches 33; Days 21.

Nannarone: I stopped by after work: One team was practicing, and several people were jogging on the level path around the field. Very nice. TFTC.
