Around the Bend

By: OLDOVAL Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

First find of the year! We were staying at the SUU cabin for a family reunion, so this cache was pretty close. I was thankful for the southern exposure since all of the snow had melted, and it was a quick discovery. Unfortunately, we found it with the lid off and half full of water. I cleaned things up as best as I could, and added a new log sheet since the spiral bound one was completely soaked. What incredible views along the road! Thanks for bringing me here, and TFTC!

Here fishy, fishy, fishy

By: Jonny13bravo Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

First visit of the year! Staying at the SUU cabin for a family reunion, this was the closest cache. I was wishing I'd taken the time to put on the snowshoes since I postholed a bit on the way up. Fortunately the immediate vicinity of the cache was completely clear of snow, and I made a quick find. Very nicely done on the camouflage! The entire park area was riddled with snow caves. On the way down, I managed to step on one, and had a bit of a start as it collapsed. The receding snow has revealed the dross left over from winter camping. I collected 4 bungee cords, a hammer, and a shovel, as well as CITOing a bunch of trash. TFTC.

St. George West Black Ridge

By: Astounding and AlAndaluz, Astounding and Percible Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

We're visiting from CA for spring break, and noticed this area after going for a couple of caches to the south of the saddle. Great views, and a fun challenge to summit! Much to our suprise, there was a couple of kids up on top trying to fly a kite...unfortunately for them, the wind was just not strong or consistent enough. There were plenty of wildflowers blooming, although we were a couple of weeks too early for cactus flowers, which should be spectacular. TFTC!

Pioneer Pockets

By: st.georgejuniors Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Visiting from CA for spring break, we came to walk the crack and play on the rocks. This one was a little tricky with just the iphone widget, but eventually I realized that I was standing on the hidey hole. In the process we discovered a bit wider crack that the entire group could enjoy. Thanks for getting us out, and TFTC!

This Really Takes The Cake

By: GC Addicted Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Visiting from CA for spring break, we came to walk the crack and play on the rocks. It was a fantastic day to explore, and I loved the contrast of the bright green grass against the red sandstone. TFTC!

Cherished Emblem of us all

By: Bryan, Dewey, Nate, and Dan (202 boys) Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

We're visiting from CA for spring break. It was great to see a new cache up at the D! We usually make a trek up since home base while we're in town is just below. It looks like things have been freshly painted. That must be quite a chore! It took a bit of scrambling around to find the cache, but coordinates were good, and we had the container in hand fairly quickly. As we were leaving, my 11 year-old son spotted a camera on the ground. After contacting the cache owner, I'm hopeful the owner can be located. It seems that it belonged to someone who was involved in the whitewashing project. TFTC!

Jaidyn's gateway to great caches

By: Stevens8 Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Small

Hi Jaidyn! Thanks for showing us a great spot. We're visiting from CA for spring break. That big hole just down from the cache had us puzzled. I wonder what it was supposed to be? TFTC!

Snow Canyon State Park

By: Utah State Parks Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

I'm visiting from CA for spring break. Wow, this is a beautiful area! TFTC!

By: ifranz and camelbak dave - Adopted by Moose Mob Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

Passing through on our spring break trip, and the kids had never been to the strip, so we decided to take a quick tour. Thanks for getting things started out right!

Gateway to the Peninsula

By: caccbag Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

A quick stop on my trek back to the east side. Thanks for the lunchtime diversion. Plenty more to do!

No Dogs Allowed

By: caccbag Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Got it. Several people were breaking the rules. TFTC.

MegaMind Field

By: caccbag Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I got a little dizzy arriving at the correct elevation, but after that things smoothed out. Great views! TFTC.

Gateway to the Peninsula #2

By: caccbag Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Coordinates are off. The day laborers outside the paint store hoping for a job didn't help my cause either. I was able to make the grab, but had to circle around to the front to return the cache, using the sign for cover! TFTC.

Presidents' Street Serie #1 - George Washington

By: caccbag Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I felt pretty conspicuous with several people walking by, but pushed on. The discovery of a used doggie bag in the bush stopped me for a minute though. Yuck. TFTC, though.

Presidents' Street Serie #14 - Franklin Pierce

By: caccbag Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

I finished my in-n-out on the way to GZ. Thanks for the desert!

Adams Patrol

By: Team Vaccine Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Found on a lunchtime sweep, this was a place I wasn't aware of, even though I've cached all around the area many times. Thanks!

Jinx

By: city.girl Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I'm not sure why this cache is called Jinx, but I felt a bit that way while on approach. I spent some time looking for an access point closer than the Arguello entrance but couldn't find any. After giving up and going back there, I saw on the park map that there was indeed an easment about 0.15 mi from cache, and I'd driven right by it! The route I took wasn't muddy at all, but some other hikers told me there was a mudslide across the trail further down by the creek. TFTC.

Sneath Lane Trailhead

By: Baron88 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I've been here before. The climb to the ridge is a good one! Love those views too. Today it was a quick in and out before heading home. No rain for the brief visit, too! TFTC.

Fawn's Awesome Birthday Cache

By: hollynstephen Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I dodged the rain showers, but managed to get wet brushing up against the leaves! Thanks for the hunt!

Double Murder

By: crawburr Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not Chosen

An interesting old cemetery and a great story! Thanks for the work to set this multi-cache up.

Hummm...Bzzzzz...Whirrrrr!

By: Geoides Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I ignored the sign that says 'authorized personnel only', and made a fairly quick find. This certainly could have been quite a bit more evil than it turned out to be. TFTC.

San Andreas Fault Scarp

By: Troutpro Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Other

I've been the San Juan Bautista prior to the creation of the EC, but was happy to return again. Thanks for some additional information about this interesting place!

Rest in Peace

By: Karen1327 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I like cemetery caches, espcially when travelling with bthomas. Interesting things to see and fascinating stories! TFTC.

Zmudowski State Beach

By: 50sumtin Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

Autorouting totally failed on this approach as we ended up trying to drive through a strawberry field. Workers looked at us curiously, but nobody told us to scram. Eventually common sense prevailed, and we just followed the signs. Much easier that way! Great camouflage and a picturesque spot. Classic 50sumtin. Godspeed friend! TFTC.

Monterey Bay USGS 15-Minute Quadrangles Challenge

By:50sumtin (managed by the GBA)Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

A tour of Monterey county including alphabet soup, 365 day, and of course this challenge. Brilliant sun, cobalt waters, neon green grass, rocky coastlines, and twisty mountain roads lined with stately oaks. All in all, a great day for a caching adventure!

TB or Not TB

By: Trackable Cow Pie Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

This cache was along our route, so we stopped expecting a quick find. Not so. Second time over the logical spot revealed the goods. TFTC.

-Monterey Airport-

By: cvfamily4 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I expected at least a glimpse of the airport, but it was not to be. I think I heard an airplane though! TFTC.

Monastery (aka Mortuary) Beach

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Beautiful day for a run down the coast and then up and over Nacamiento road. Pretty spot! We watched the kayaks for a moment before heading out for more adventure! TFTC.

Vista de Muggles

By: seahoob Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Wow! What a spot. Thanks for a reason to stop and gawk on an absolutely gorgeous winter day.

Malpaso Creek Beach

By: CKayaks Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

Glad to erase a previous DNF. Thanks for replacing the cache, and for the return visit to the secret little gem.

Cobalt Blue Drei

By: Iron Chef Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Definitely a spot worthy of cache preservation, and happy to oblige with a replacement. It's a falcon tube wrapped in silver duct tape hanging about 3' up as close to GZ as my widget could figure. I loved those shades of blue! Thanks for bringing me to this wonderful spot.

Twin Bridges

By: The Lazy A Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

What a great spot! Bixby bridge is definitely an eye-catching marvel. We wondered where the old road leads, but didn't have the time to explore. TFTC!

Alphabet Soup

By: Hula Bum Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

A fun challenge and an incredible spot for the final cache! bthomas and I enjoyed our trek down the coast today with brilliant sun, green grass, crystal blue water. What a great day to be out and about. An attached screen grab shows my qualifying finds. Thanks!

A Cache a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

By: Hula Bum Difficulty: 4.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

Nearly nine months in the planning stages, today was the day to make the trek and earn the smilie on this fun challenge. I'm the type to cache in spurts, so there were a lot of holes. You got me out there on Christmas Day (in the pouring rain no less!), and plenty of other weekdays when it would have been easier just to head straight home. Still, caching seems to be a game of checking boxes, and when there's a new way to line things up, I'm there. Thanks for feeding my obsession! Today was a beautiful day for a road trip, bthomas and I enjoyed making our way down the coast, and up over the mountains on Nacamiento road. Not too many caches along that stretch, but definitely worth the trip for it's unending string of million dollar views. TFTC!

Civil War Vet

By: liggettch Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

What a lonely and forlorn grave site! Thanks for the chance to pay our respects, and TFTC.

Grinding Mill

By: Tiki Treasure Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Thanks for showing us this interesting place. It didn't seem like there would be enough water to keep a mill running. TFTC.

Big Bang

By: liggettch Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Other

Great! I loved it. Still snickering to myself as I write this log. TFTC!

Fire Station Three

By: CaptainHerb Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The Dirty (Baker's) Dozen: Robert Jefferson

By: caccbag Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

This is a very nice park! There were some very fragrant flowers blooming along the path, which was a pleasant bonus. TFTC.

President Bush

By: 1.5 Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

I violated your 'family only' rule, but fortunately there wasn't anyone around to bother. There was a fellow puttering around in his garage across the street and I fooled him with my GPSr as phone trick. TFTC.

Long Wait for a Table

By: flglady Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

I grabbed this cache on the way home from work. It was too dark to see what the name of the place had been, so that's still a mystery to me. Finding a way around the fence was a slight bother, and I felt bad tromping through the feral cat feeding station. TFTC.

Crystal Springs Vista

By: UnixGal Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

I took the long way to work this morning so that I could grab this cache. Glad that I did, since the views were really clear. I thought for a while that I wouldn't be able to grab it since a maintanance worker was parked in such a way that I would have had to walk right in front of him. Fortunately he went to gather the trash and the coast was clear! TFTC.

Air Mail

By: caccbag Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Small

I noticed several new caches up on San Bruno Mountain, and decided to take a lunchtime hike. Brilliant sunshine today; I think I might have a sunburn! TFTC.

San Bruno Box Canyon

By: caccbag Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

Making my way along the ridge, I stopped for this cache, and to watch the planes landing in the 'wrong' direction. TFTC.

Thanks for the lunchtime grab. I love the freedom of the open road too, although on 4 wheels. TFTC.
