River and rocks, all very nice. TFTC.

Screwy Dewey

By: joshgreenrules Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Keep a close eye on your kids...we don't want them burning the bridge down. ARRGGH. Glad I got to your cache before the distaster.

Plugged In(n) #2

By: The Potter and Suzer Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

I needed a quick fix before bed and this cache was just the ticket. How convenient that you placed it at our motel! TFTC.

JCs Camp Cache

By: COYODY & BARNOBLE Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

The folks in camp wondered why we zoomed in and out so quickly, but fortunately we had the alibi that there were no spots available! TFTC.

Potash Box Canyon

By: Gary Garmin, The US-Operative, and CaverSpenc Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

Out with bthomas, who's been here before. We searched at both locations, and then dropped a replacement cache at the waypoint indicated in my log. It's a clear plastic waterbottle. The hint on the cache page should apply. Apparently jspearson dropped a new cache at the coordinates posted on the cache page? Perhaps there are two containers now. In any case, what at great box canyon! Thanks for bringing us here.

Gold Bar

By: Kids Klub Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Got it. TFTC.

Colorado River and Red Rock Cliffs

By: Scout Master Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Beautiful views and plenty of examples of how God really does stack rocks! TFTC.

Cache Canyon With Proper Layby

By: Dick & Song Bug Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Regular

I loved the box canyon. What a hidden gem. Thanks for the cache!

Moab drive by ??

By: DeViDe Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Thanks for the quickie; after this one we scooted off for a nice meal.

There's a Hole in that Rock.

By: BBnot2Busy Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

We huffed and puffed our way to the cache. I overshot way left and arrived just as airsax was closing up the box. Cool hiding spot and great river view! TFTC.

Indian Petroglyphs

By: Ron Streeter Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

Caching Moab between wheeling runs with bthomas and airsax, who had already sent in our answers. I loved the views and the thought that people have been enjoying them for a very long time. I also spotted the letterbox closeby. TFTC.

Dewey Bridge

By: JJAC Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

This was the trailhead for our run to the Top of the World. What a cool old bridge with an interesting history. I was so sorry to learn that it burned down shortly after our visit. Hopefully it can be restored or rebuilt once again. TFTC.

Top of the World Cache

By: Paleface Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

I wheeled to the top with bthomas and airsax. What a fantastic spot and so very deserving of a geocache. After a thorough 3-person search for about 30 minutes, we came to the same conclusion as several previous seekers that the cache simply isn't there any more. Because of the remoteness of the location, and in the interest of preserving the spot for future finders, we decided to drop a temporary micro cache and record a find. Admittedly, not everyone will agree with this tactic, but since each of us have over 2K finds (one of us way, way more!) rest assured that we did it to preserve the spot and not to augment our own statistics. Hopefully the cache owner will make a maintainance visit to correct this problem, but if not, perhaps a future visitor can put in a proper container. Thanks for bringing us to a wonderful location!

Lorans First Cache

By: joshgreenrules Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Micro

Love these cliffs! Hopefully we'll get up on top of the one above your cache soon. TFTC.

RAY'S

By: GR8GPN & The_Simpson's Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

Since we were hungry and on the way to Moab too, we took your recommendation and stopped for a bite. It was packed on a Friday night, but well worth the wait. Thanks for the tip and the cache!

Rock-IN in "The Swell"

By: CaverSpencer Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 3.0 Container: Micro

I could have reached it from the ground, but bthomas was too quick with his spiderman skills. I love these kinds of suprises! TFTC.

Windows to the Swell

By: dirtisgood Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

I enjoyed this spot! Definitely a preview of the incredible rock formations to come. Thanks for guiding our trek.

Going to the Wedge

By: roofrocket Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

A quick stop after taking in the sights at the end of the road. What a geology lesson! Thanks for marking the way!

Dinosaur Footprint

By: samariel Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Regular

On the way to this cache, we had a discussion about exactly what a dinosaur footprint would look like. After seening the evidence, I imagine this one must have been fast, mean, and hungry. TFTC.

Buckhorn Wash

By: Udink Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Small

We weren't reading all the cache page desriptions before hunting the caches along Buckhorn Draw, so this came as a bit of a suprise! bthomas was the mountain goat of the group, although I did climb to the extent of my comfort limit. Thanks for the challenging cache in a beautiful location!

A Day at the Beach

By: seekinadventure Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 3.5 Container: Regular

Exploring with bthomas and airsax. I really enjoyed the views, rock formations and geology of this area. TFTC.

White Rocks

By: Basset Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

We saw some interesting plants and a big fat lizzard here. TFTC!

Green River Utah 1st

I always appreciate the chance to learn a little history. Your cache got me up to speed, so thanks!

Southeastern Utah History

By: 6pak Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

Good place to stretch the legs. While we were figuring out the answers, a college class on a field trip stopped. We saw them later on in the day down in Green River, too. Thanks!

Well Well, a Well in the Swell

By: DeViDe Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

We found it. The guys doing donuts on their ATVs accross the way paid us no mind at all. The cache needs some TLC. Thanks!

A Swell Cache with A Swell View of the Swell

By: DeViDe , GBOTS and dhobby1 Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Small

Thanks for placing that cliffs / falling rocks attribute on your cache page...I had my eyes glued on the arrow and nearly had an accident! [;)] Those views get a 'triple swell' rating in my book, too! Simply jaw-dropping. TFTC!.

Munitions Tunnels

By: Basset Difficulty: 2.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

After some discussion about the correct way to access this cache, we set off in a different direction than our intended route down Buckhorn Draw. It was a good decision as we were able to drive right up to the overhead blast holes. After spending a few minutes chatting with other folks and peering down into the tunnel, we were off to explore and find your cache. An interesting place with an intreguing story. Thanks for sharing this place!

Wedge Overlook Cache and Ride

By: koshea Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Not chosen

Not having bikes, the vehicles came along for this trek. The trail was clearly signed for jeeps, although by its width, it appears to be primarily an ATV trail. In fact, we stopped for a convoy of about 20 of them to pass. I was happy to be inside with the windows rolled up. Heh. Fun little side tour with great views. Thanks for placing the cache!

Outlaws and Lawmen

By: WayOutWest Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 2.5 Container: Regular

A fun little scamper up to the cache. I think I'm coming to understand why Butch spent so much time in this area: Remote, remote, remote! TFTC.

Sink Hole at Jackass Flats

By: DeViDe Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Out of the cliffs and on to the flats, but we wouldn't have tripped over this hole without your mark. Thanks!

San Rafael Bridge

By: Bean Stompers Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

I found it with airsax, who has sent our answers. I love the old bridges. Hopefully this one will be around for a long, long time: It's so sad what happened to Dewey Bridge. TFTC!

DeViDe I 70 Quick Cache

By: DeViDe Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

A lot of interesting things going on at this cache. First, it was evident that someone had camped at ground zero. Second, some of the branches on the pine tree must have been in the way, because they had been removed. Third, whoever had removed them must have done it with a pocket knife or something because it looked like quite a struggle. Fourth, the pine tree had decided to take its revenge since there was sap all over the place. Fifth, the campers has tried to stem the flow of sap by tying little pieces of plastic grocery bag over the ends of the cut branches. Bizzare. The amazing thing is that, after all that, I don't the campers even noticed the cache!

Shelby's Cache

By: Scovill Gang Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Regular

Loved the wedge overlook. TFTC!

Western Mining & Railroad Museum

By: Ron Streeter Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Virtual

As the recent Crandall Canyon mine collapse reminds us, coal mining is a dangerous business indeed. Nice to see a name from back home way out here! TFTC.

Urban Sprawl, yikes!

By: CaverSpencer Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 2.0 Container: Small

Although overcast and cloudy during our visit, the views of the snowcapped mountains and lake were breathtaking. As to the uncontrolled development...yikes, indeed! It's not a good sign when you pass as many brand new, unoccupied houses as we did enroute to this cache. [:O] The hike to the cache stretched our sea-level lungs a bit. Thanks.

On the way to Israel

By: CaverSpencer Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Small

Back when I spent some time on the other side of the lake, there wasn't nuthin' out here...except for sagebrush and cowpies, of course. I suppose I was caught in a bit of a Footloose timewarp. [;)] Thanks for the update. Onward and upward!

Castle Gate Mining

By: AD & #216;OR Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

Thanks for an interesting and informative earthcache!

Coal Mining, Then and Now

By: AD ØOR Difficulty: 1.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Other

I really enjoyed looking at this equipment, and learned a lot about what happens in a coal mine. There was one piece that was used to set a world record for the most coal mined in 24 hours...that was one incredibly large amount of coal! Thanks for the earthcache!

The Utah Well Rounded Cacher

By: CaverSpencer Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Regular

WHEW! [8D][8D]Co-FTF with bthomas[8D][8D] airsax was along, too. I've had my eye on this challenge since Kealia first created it in the Bay Area about a year ago. About the time I'd nabbed every D/T combination within easy reach, the chance for a wheeling trip to Moab with bthomas presented the opportunity to finish the challenge off. I have to say that there were a few tense moments as we nearly DNF'd a D4.5/T4 near Pyramid Lake, and then only barely made it to Floating Island (D4.5/T5) right before dark. Those are just a few of the caching memories that will last a long, long time.

Thanks to Caverspencer for setting up a Utah version of this chall enge, and to all the cachers here who have set up caches to waypoint the fantastic natural beauty that this state has to offer! I know I've only scratched the surface, and hope to return soon.

I'm writing this out longhand: Thanks so very, very much for the cache.

Kamron's Korral

By: mtwilli Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Regular

Turn off for our tour through the Northern Swell. I had just gotten pulled over for 76 in a 65mph zone a few miles back along Hwy 10, but the officer was feeling kindly and let me off with a warning. That's the kind of luck a fellow needs! TFTC.

B$

By: kanemen Difficulty: 2.5 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Regular

This was the start of our multi-state offroad adventure, with the unusual D/T combination of the cache as one of the motivations for making the find. Up and up we travelled, passing many optimistically placed street signs on progressively rockier tracks. On this clear morning, the view from the top was indeed a 'B$' one. Thanks for a fun trek and a great conclusion.

find me if you can

By: ALLEN77 Difficulty: 4.5 Terrain: 4.0 Container: Regular

Our second stop of the day in an area with caches that have unusual D/T combinations. We headed up the road until the arrow indicated that we were perpendicular to the cache, and then turned uphill along a narrow ATV track. I wasn't confident that it would get us where we needed to go, but, in fact, it did after a bit of wandering around. Climbing the last several hundred feet to ground zero, we began to search...and search...and search. I was starting to despair that we wouldn't find it. The cache ended up being about 30' off to the NE at the base of the big rocks. There are many, many places to hide a cache, but fortunately we didn't have to worry about active snakes, it was just too chilly. After signing the log we moved on with a great sense of relief. Thanks for the challenge.

Twixt a Rock and a Tuff Place

In the area for several unusual D/T combination caches, we enjoyed the unique rock formations along the way. TFTC!

To The Moon, Alice!

Interesting geological information. Thanks for pointing out this place!

New Year, 2006 Reno floods again!

By: byjer Difficulty: 3.5 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Regular

Yeah, it's up there somewhere alright. Even though we'd been warned, the location of the cache was still suprising, given the crumbling nature of the rocks. I suppose that's what you get when you're hunting those unusual D/T combination though. We did have a secret weapon though given that bthomas was along, but as it turned out, his memory of the cliff led me on a mountain goat's adventure while the more cautious airsax eventually made the find in a more straighforward location. Thanks for the scramble and the Fizzy Matrix box check.

Jefferson Nickel Cache

By: reno95yj Difficulty: 3.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Not chosen

I searched for Jefferson nickels among all the coins in my ashtray, but didn't see any. There weren't any in the cache either so I didn't feel too bad. Thanks for the quickie.

Wadsworth SHM

By: bthomas Difficulty: 1.5 Terrain: 1.5 Container: Micro

bthomas thought he was going to have to do some cache maintainance, but discovered that someone else had already replaced the log sheet. I quickly scanned the historical marker, and we were on our way. TFTC!

Crossroads to Adventure

The World ?s Fastest Cache

On our way to Floating Island. There were beautiful colors on the nearby hills in the setting sun. TFTC!

Floating Island

By: Desert Dawg & Mama Dawg Difficulty: 4.5 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Regular

What a cool spot! Congratulations to airsax on her 2K find. She saved us with her new UT topo maps since the turn off to the cache isn't marked, and the relatively recent grading of the main road makes it seem even more obscure. We found the contents of the cache in good shape, but the unending UV rays have not been kind to the plastic cache container...quite brittle! Thanks for bringing us to this remote spot.

Floating Island Indian Cave

By: Desert Dawg & ZZ Rooks Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 5.0 Container: Other

Well, since it was dark, we probably should have turned back after finding the cache on the north side of the island. But we didn't. Eventually we got to within 500' and hiked up from there. Cool view with the traffic lights twinkling in the distance. Never saw the interpretive sign. Thanks for pointing out this challenging location.

10 Foot Pole

By: High Country Trapper Difficulty: 5.0 Terrain: 1.0 Container: Micro

The first of many along a grand tour of CA, NV, UT, and CO with airsax and bthomas. A big shout out of Gary & Vicky who met us at the cache with the required equipment. All I had to do was climb the (...over, definitely over...) 10 Foot Pole. I don't exactly understand your D/T rating on this cache, but hey, thanks for filling a Fizzy Matrix square!
